Adobe Illustrator books on Rendering techniques

I’ve found a bunch of illustrator books through Amazon that discuss rendering cloth/fabrics primarily for flat fashion views…

Has anyone found these to be helpful? I am looking to improve my vector and photoshop rendering skills in upholstered goods.

here’s an example of what I’ve come across so far:

No one uses illustrator to produce “Flat” renderings at all?

Hi,

This isn’t my area of expertise, but yes, Illustrator is commonly used to produce flat renderings, for the fashion, soft goods and footwear industry, often used in conjunction with Photoshop for the more “photo-realistic” elements.

Hope this makes sense, hopefully someone with more direct experience will get back to you too. Maybe a post in that section might get some better answers?

Thanks sam. i should have done that in the first place.
