This is an interesting article that was sent to me by csven/ykh:

What are your thoughts on this? How do you think it will evolve?

i think that any connection to the real world ( funny in this case, but the real world is behind SL ) is good.
but i can’t but think about…
our first consumer is the retail, our final consumers are people who buy our products to use them.
in the last 10 years we are giving more and more importance to what retail, in part this is because we are disconnected from the reality, but most importantly it’s much easier to sell to retail then to our final consumers if you don’t know what you’re doing.

i applaud adi for doing this, but i believe this is a small step and i’m not sure what importance will they give to that.

I think this is interesting.

We all jabber about connecting the brand with the consumer and all the great things that happen. Getting reactions from a pro athlete regarding a new training shoe is probably very helpful fro the designer. Getting design-colorway critique from someone who happens to be in a virtual world is probably not so insightful.

This kind of reminds me of the Nike car that was in Gran Turismo 4. Nice work Yo. That seemed like it was little more thoughtful though in how the brand was being applied outside of it’s typical setting. my 2c
