Re: HighSchool student, folio advice

Hi, I am a high school senior and I'm looking to get into an art school for graphic design. Unfortunatley there is a problem. My problem is that I would like to apply for SVA early decision and that is due by dec 1st. I handed in the application and my only problem is my portfolio. For some reason ...

i'm voting for john . (first submission of page 5) i agree with the person who said there's maybe too much tech involved with these designs, but i think the tech was kept at a minimum for john's design. i like how it simply shows and reminds a person of how much water they are using, as opposed to f...

true, but those are fairly common in america as well, though i assume for more sanitary reasons than eco-friendly ones... (-although- the sensor ones at my school are solar powered too...)

indeed. funny how even the concept of water conservation would be totally different if approached from a social/ecological point of view from a country that doesnt have a supply of good clean drinking water. can't believe i forgot this, but i just remembered looking through the submissions, and see...

let's get real folks. no one wants to have a take a shorter shower...at least i don't! ShowerPower changes all that! it doesn't conserve water per se, but it makes use of your 'wasted' water in a way that helps you save $ on your energy bills through energy created by YOU. my idea was based on the '...

try www.journeyed.com, HUGE discounts for students. not sure about teachers. as for markers... if you have a michael's near you, i would suggest looking for their weekly 40% off coupon (every sunday in the newspaper ads! maybe it's just by me?) or wait for thanksgiving for the 70% off-ers (and long ...

hmm maybe it's just me but i didn't get an 'angry' vibe from zippy's original post- just sadness over an isolated incident- i'd be sad if i saw a squashed baby duckling too! though who knows what exactly happened when it was killed.

a few questions-

was there a theme for the first one, or is the theme talk for future 1HDC's? when would the theme be introduced for the 2nd contest- right at the start of it?

did the design have to be posted up within the one hour timeframe?

what time did the first 1HDC take place?

Re: What is the best trash bucket you've seen?

Today after I finished up my turkey sandwich and chips at the local eatery, I noticed that they didn't have trash cans for recycling...the other thing I noticed is that they had one of those trash receptacles with the swinging doors....really bad design...I always feel like it's unsanitary...people...
