Re: Vietnam + Cambodia

So... In the interest of time, I decided to suck it up and get a plane ticket. It will give me literally 24 extra hours time to wander around, so to me it's worth it. Though I do admit I was kind of looking forward to traveling through all the provinces on land... I doubt that that can beat walking ...

Re: Vietnam + Cambodia

I took a bus from Bankok to Siem Riep, then a speedboat to Phnom Phen and a prop plane to Ratanakiri in the NE It was a REALLY bad road - shakes you non-stop the whole time once you pass through into the country. there's a good chance it's like that from the other direction as well The border itsel...

Re: Vietnam + Cambodia

Haha- I will not be eating fried frog from anywhere. I got enough stomach sickness last time in Asia as it was, without eating anything (too) out of the ordinary, so I think I'm already conditioned to stay away from anything that might make me feel sick... Thank you everyone for your advice... turns...

Re: Anyone in china now?

I posted this in the Design in Asia forum, but am going to give it a shot here too-- Hi everyone, I'm going to be in Vietnam from November 4-15 for work. I have a return flight to the USA on November 20, and in those last few days I'm planning on taking a trip to Cambodia to see the Angkor Wat templ...

Vietnam + Cambodia

Hi everyone, I'm going to be in Vietnam from November 4-15 for work. I have a return flight to the USA on November 20, and in those last few days I'm planning on taking a trip to Cambodia to see the Angkor Wat temple area. There's a lot of "information" online but I wanted to check here to see if an...

Re: LEGO ... for girls

My sisters had this back in maybe 1995... Hmmmm... were your sisters 32-year-old gay men? 2 guys. Alone. Beach resort. Drinks. Pink cabana chairs. Umbrella. Parrot. And I swear the guy on the right has a moustache. Not sayin', just sayin'. Not that there is anything wrong with that. ;) haha... hard...

2d to 3d pattern generator?

Does anyone else remember sometime in the past year I believe, there was a post on the main core page about a free online program that let you generate 2d patterns from 3d modelled shapes? I'm not sure but there may have been 'bubble' in the name or a hippo as one of the visuals on the website. I kn...

Re: Quitting a freelance position that you hated

Thank you for all your advice, but I'm still a little confused. I definitely am over getting really emotional and angry about this - if I were to have the one-on-one with my boss I'd simply say "Boss, I've just been offered a position and have decided to accept it. But I wanted to thank you for this...

Quitting a freelance position that you hated

So I'm in the awesome position to quit the job that I hate. It's a full-time freelance position that I've been at for six months, during which time I've been treated like absolute garbage. I *finally* got my key out (aka legit job which is almost guaranteed to be amazing). I so desperately want to q...

Re: Would really love some advice for my crappy work situati

Thank you all for the reality check.

It's just too easy to get too emotional/frustrated when every day is filled with sugary sweet exclamations of "I have a *project* for you!!" as if I'm five years old at summer camp.

Re: Would really love some advice for my crappy work situati

I have good reason to think they may be keeping me on for only one more month... I really really want to have the satisfaction of quitting. I'm thinking of doing it in three weeks. Thoughts?

Re: Would really love some advice for my crappy work situati

Thanks Coyote, and yes there's a bit of an update: Three weeks after approaching my boss about a meeting, I finally get A to put me on my Boss's calendar. He puts me in for a whopping ten minutes... I end up speaking with him for half an hour. I started off by showing my boss a continuation of some ...

Re: Would really love some advice for my crappy work situati

I worked with an "A" character as an intern, total douchebag. I read most of your posts, sounds like this person is well aware of the organizational changes going on at the company and is freaked the F out by it. The A that I had to work for did the same crap because I was hired by his boss. A was ...
