I would have to say that I agree with the client on this one. Usually when I'm working on stuff for a client, I am billing them by the hour. So this would include any and all work that I do during the time I am working for them. Since all those thumbnail drawings, etc. are done during this time, I w...

Would anyone happen to know of any furniture stores with ikea type of prices and quality, possibly even a little more expensive, but still low-end with a contemporary style. Target and Walmart both have similar selections....any others??

I realize Karim Rashid is not very much liked in the design industry, but on the flip side, the fact that he's on this show at least helps shed light on the industrial design profession during a critical point in time when designers are becoming more and more recognized and respected by the general ...

try going to www.cingular.com and goto Shop cingular for PDAs and Phones. When it asks for the zip code, put in 53129 (Greendale, Wi...a suburb of Milwaukee) or put in whatever zip code your product is going to be targeting. That should give you a good idea of what phones are currently being offered...

Yea, I'm in the same boat. Just got a job out of school around the beginning of June. Ever since I've been making the trek from Milwaukee, WI to Madison (85 mile trip). To top it off, I'm driving a '95 Ford Windstar (completely paid off), so I'm spending around $500/month in gas...... Of course, I'm...

Well considering that you wouldn't get any of the benefits a salary employee probably gets and that after the project is complete, they have no obligation to keep giving you work, I'd say you could ask for more. $35/hr?? Depending on what place it is, I've heard some people go as high as $50/hr Any ...

"Unless you have an idea on how you can download your great new design online, I think your outta luck." Just wait til 3d printers hit the home market. Im thinkin a "napster"esque type of website where you pay $10/month to download free products...Otherwise, I think you're gonna have a tough time, b...

Hey Analogue, For starters, It's awesome to see the amount of passion you have for an industry that you have yet to really get your feet wet in. This kind of attitude is lost in many designers and students of design and from my small amount of experience, it's the ones like you that really come out ...

Alias Imagestudio floor reflections

I have my floor reflection set to 10% with skylight lighting/environment. For some reason, at the bottom of my image, a dark block is reflected into the floor and interfering with the reflection of the model. How can i get rid of this without compromising the angle of my view or the reflection of th...

i should probably explain that "in the area" means traveling as far as Chicago or Madison. (1 & 1/2 hour drive), or of course, any distance if the work is over the internet.
Thanks Again!!

Freelance in Milwaukee??

I just recently graduated and wish to remain living in the Milwaukee, WI area. Would anyone have any ideas of any freelance jobs within the area or websites other than coroflot and idsa that might have job postings?? All help is much appreciated.

one thing that i noticed the most was that you have no actual projects up. its much easier to judge your work if we can see how you think through a project. i would say that you need work on your sketching skills. Your models all seem pretty good however.
