implications

I do not think that your question implied that at all. I think it is nice to give the props out to whoever did it where ever they work and I think you are right, it is a nice product...although I am not sure that the color choice is ideal.

designer

There are a lot of talented people at Safety 1st so it certainly could have been done internally but I think that the design that was pictured may have been designed by Spark Design in Connecticut.

specific

I have found it helpful to be as specific as possible: If you design footwear, say that. If you work at a consultancy pick one area, say toy design, and say that. That usually works best if you want to be brief.

Tria

They are terrible.
They dry out way too quickly.
The refills are more expensive and do not last as long.
Not matching with Pantone makes their numbering system useless and annoying.
Word is that Pantone is going to make their own set.

punishment

In parts of New England (and probably other areas) there are towns that require you to pay for each garbage bag that you put out at the curb in order to encourage recycling. The bags are sold by the towns I think.

The vote was 424-1. Who was the 1?

Phthalates should be banned from all products and the rest of the actual changes are not really relevant as they have been in place in some form by the companies themselves for some time. I think this will have little or no impact on the way that most companies in those categories do business today....

Design

Why do we know them and not other designers? I think it is a good question. I am sure the answer is complicated, but if one wants to become know in design I think that you have to start by contributing something on par with Newson's 021, Rashid's Arianna ice bucket, Starck's Jim Nature portable TV, ...

IKEA

In preparing for an article I came across this information about my beloved friend IKEA on Wikipedia. I think that you will find it interesting. Despite its Swedish roots, IKEA is owned and operated by a complicated array of not-for-profit and for-profit corporations. The IKEA corporate structure is...

It is pretty easy to edit the article and the images but before on of us does that I think that there is something to be gained from seeing it as it stands today.

If you have a minute, check out the Wikipedia entry for ID. I think that the two pictures are especially interesting choices.

It looks cool but it is hard to imagine that the lack of tactile feedback results in a pleasant experience. Have you tried one?
