Re: Role of a Package Designer?

Thank you both for those very informative answers. I've been having a good think about it. My interest is in creating both the form and the graphics. but I don't want to be involved in engineering. So by your responses, I'd be looking at a Packaging Designer (graphic design) or a Structural Packagin...

Re: Role of a Package Designer?

Hi Justin. I look forward to reading your in depth info. I've made a mood board of the sort of package design that I find inspirational. So in cases like these, the design process would be; a Structural Package Designer to create the form (and possibly mock up the graphics). Then it would be passed ...

Re: Role of a Package Designer?

Hi Clam. Thanks for your insight. Would others say that Package Designers usually only work on the 3d structure? Or are there two separate professions: a Structural Package Designer and a Package Designer? I'd have thought that in many cases, the structure and graphics would need to be designed depe...

Role of a Package Designer?

What are the day to day roles of a Package Designer? I'm unsure what an employer advertising for a Package Designer would typically expect from me. Do they expect the same designer to create the package form, structural design, graphics and everything else? Or does a Package Designer create the form...

Interesting. In part of the recent Channel 4 documentary; China: Triumph and Turmoil, they interview Lonovo. They mention that more design is now being done there.

Re: Superbrands 2012

I can't believe a paint company would be eighth, unless brits are that much more excited about house paint...wow. Rolex still bothers me too. Ha. Yeah, you ask anyone here in the UK to name a paint brand and they'll say Dulux. Just reminded me of a great advert they did a while back, all in stop-mo...

Re: Open link in new tab

Just because others are doing it wrong doesn't mean we should too. Method 1: Reading a thread - Click on a link someone posted - The page redirects to that site - Browse numerous pages of the new site - Want to return to the original thread - Repeatedly click back button until reached. Method 2: Re...

Re: Open link in new tab

But browsing a thread is an ongoing process. Someone links to something, you check it out, then want to return to the thread. This method may be wrong in your eyes, but not in the large majority of forums, and for good reasons. Yes, I read the article. But it was obviously just one side of the argue...
