Wacom cintiq 12wx @ 1,048 pressure levels HP Touchsmart ... as far I know it's about 256 pressure levels , maybe 512..but no more... Have you ever considering a Wacom Intuos 4? ... I think that those lights are used for evaluating "surfacing".. maybe the're pretending to make zebra visualization more clear to the eyes ... by the pictures it seems that these "light panel" can be moved from varies points around the surface plate...

Seriously, do they have a design team, or just go down to the local primary schools and say 'knock yourself out kids..." Of course they have design team... as they understand "a design team"... maybe they aren't from CCS or ACCD... but they designed something they considered "enough right...to be" ...
