Re: zebra stripes- does it matter?

This Hermes watch is a painful example of tangent surfacing where it would have been much nicer with CC surfacing. You (highly trained industrial designer who does this sort of thing for a living) can literally see where the filets start and ends. It makes me a little sad.

Re: Gore and Guts

you could desaturate the photo or add a color tint over the whole photo with some nice type "problem statement stuff" on top or do a really detailed AI line overlay drawing instead or blur the whole thing to act like a background with nice tight callouts over it...

Re: Samsung Galaxy S5 Unveiled

Galaxy S5 is pretty boring, but no surprise there. The Gear Fit is interesting though. Probbaly the best thing at MWC. It's really big still but the ID with long aspect ratio, curved screen is starting to get interesting. Samsung Design America did a nice job with this. This is the difference betwee...

Agree. This concept is fantastic. It's a little weird, but still beautiful. The sculpting and lines just keep pulling your eye all around the form. Love it

Re: Kia GT3 Stinger concept vs Audi Sport Quattro Concept

I love that Audi, and the Allroad Shooting Brake too. The Kia doesn't really do anything for me though. Somehow it feels kind of 80's. Maybe it's the way the headlights are positioned that I feel like it's going to have a flip up light. The rear 3/4 I like more, but it feels very reminiscent of the ...

Re: Anyone recognizes this design?

fyi, Google's "Search by image" is pretty cool. You upload a photo and it finds similar ones. Great for finding context on those random mood board/ inspiration images.

Re: Ice Mammoth - Mech Eng Capstone

I'd keep them as flexible tubes, but maybe look into different tpes of tubing. Clear vinyl is only one option. Also consider how they exit the main body at the top and how they enter the ice scraper assembly. Keeping the arms exposed and mechanical looking is fine. Maybe look for inspiration in the ...

Re: Ice Mammoth - Mech Eng Capstone

neat project. I'd like to see how you could design those clear tubes a little more. Those can really start to act as the basis for your visual-brand identity. Maybe there's more of a Wooly Mammoth tusked look. or they could also be a little more integrated, like some of the duct work and such on the...

Re: Clouds and security

I don't know. Seems par for the course at this point. I use Gmail and Drive, both cloud services. If someone wanted to do some damage, or wreak havoc, my gmail login alone would be plenty. There was a good story from a Wired editor about his life being turned upside down after his apple account was ...

Re: BMW 4 Series.... BMW is back!

I think the 4 and 2 look really good. Are they too similar though? I feel like they're slipping back a little into " same sausage, different length" I have similar feelings about Audi too. The 6 series 2 door and 4 door versions are looking really good though.
