No frills really but it it is dependable and loads quickly.
Maybe this is obvious, but this just means the free Adobe reader app, correct?

Do you mean something to present a portfolio on in an interview or something that you can make a portfolio in similar to InDesign?
Oops-- I did mean something to present a portfolio in an interview. Thanks for catching this.

Portfolio apps for iPad?

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a good portfolio app for iPad? I'm imagining something that's design-friendly (ie not cheesy like a powerpoint presentation). This must exist... right?

I appreciate any suggestions!

Re: Digital sketching on the iPad?

I've been using the Adonit Jot touch 4 and it's been perfect. I see Adonit actually just released a new model with different tip and am a little annoyed as I would have maybe gotten that one instead. Edit: and I see the jot touch 4 is no longer on their website but is available $20 cheaper than I pa...

It came down to this one and the Jot Touch 4, but I decided to opt for the tip that seemed the most natural. I also didn't relish the thought of having to get new batteries every time a charge runs out.

Re: Digital sketching on the iPad?

So after doing a bunch of research, I ended up ordering the Adonit Jot Touch 4. A friend of mine uses it professionally (she's an Illustrator) and gave it high praise, so I'm trusting that it's worth it. She says palm rejection technology isn't great across the board but that this is decent. It also...

Re: Becoming a designer at 24

I have a problem. I want to run a software startup, design electronics, finish my novel, improve that algorithm that I know can be improved, and just a whole litony of stuff. Everything has been started, nothing is finished. It's getting to a point where I just can't balance all of these things. I'...

Re: Becoming a designer at 24

Jump in. No time for school.I don't want to be doing my unpaid internship at 29 or 30. edit: I'll go to school if I can't find work in any position that's design related before the next year is up. Just saying it's not my first choice since I just feel really old . I did my exchange semester in a d...

Re: Digital sketching on the iPad?

I came here to post the same question. If you can get a Cintiq, that would probably be the best way to learn digital sketching. It's as close to the real thing (sketching with pen and paper) as you can get. You get lots of physical real estate to work with. I personally wouldn't recommend getting a ...

Re: New to freelancing- need help with this situation

For me it sounds like you are working in Italy :) (and here they call it "experience") I also miss the "crisis" argument as a reason why they don't pay you in your story :) :) (serious mode on): I have a similar 'client' at the moment. He convinced me to work for him and royalties will come when a ...

Re: New to freelancing- need help with this situation

My first internship was with a guy that sounds incredibly similar to this guy (I wonder if it's the same?). He was all for the hard sell of how great his company was, how his clients would eat up the stuff they were producing etc etc. Turns out he ran his company off the back of unpaid interns and ...

Re: New to freelancing- need help with this situation

Please don't do this job, I don't want to leave school and face people who are used to having talented designers work for free! This is a very good point. I happen to work in an industry heavily entrenched in spec proposals, but luckily all of the design work is paid work. I'm not aware of any desi...

Re: New to freelancing- need help with this situation

In my experience people like this often dupe recent grads to work for little or no money. Which is ironic because a recent grad is relatively untrained in bringing an idea to market... It starts a conscious cycle of devaluing design. This can happen on the corporate level as well where a company wi...
