Re: Newly Released Work (All Product Types)

So good! :) Did you work out the transformation too? Are there more in to be released?

Re: Newly Released Work (All Product Types)

I joined this project really late, so really can't take much of the credit, but am still really excited to have played a tiny part in it's journey in to the wild! The press went live this week ahead of New York Toy Fair, Iron Man Hero Vision AR. https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2018/2/12/1699...

CES 2018

Anybody about at CES next week? It will be my first time at the show, I've used the CES planner to flag all the exhibitors I'm interested in and created a crazy ambitious map of hundreds of things to go and see...! Any tips for the CES noob? Any must-see's / do's / avoids? I'm sure there is already ...

Re: Recent Grad in "The Funk"

The Toy Industry is the best industry... I'm biased at all! ;) You said you won't take comments to heart, so here goes :) - The one thing that hit me first is the comment that you don't have much to show from your internship at Little Tykes, and that your portfolio doesn't reflect your current abili...

Re: Sketching in Seattle's coffee shops

So I feel bad for dropping this thread a bit...! But full time work has made me lazy outside work! However... I have been playing with sketching in VR, and wondered if anybody else had? I'm still very novice, and struggled switching from perspective sketching to volumetric sketching! But hey, here's...

Re: Form Sensitivity-How to make co-workers aware

I also wonder if the designer has strengths in other areas that the rest of the team doesn't? That balances out the team as a whole? I'm used to working in teams where everyone has their 'T', and not everyone is good at every area of design. Sometimes accepting that somebody is better than me at dif...

Beautiful Surfacing Sketching

As always I'm looking to build my sketch skillset, and have hit a bit of a roadblock in creating beautiful or well thought out new forms. Something with way more fitness than I can currently achieve. I'm looking for advice on how to create surfaces that knit and wow, rather than looking like two box...

Re: Seattle to Yellowstone - recommendations?

Stop at Meltz in Coeur d'Alene for a grilled cheese. Stop at Bequet Confections in Bozeman for their sea salt caramels,. Off the trail a bit, but I recommend Glacier National Park. Fabulous, thank you! Will check some of them out! :) If you're Twin Peaks fans, stop by the Great Northern ( https://w...

Seattle to Yellowstone - recommendations?

So after moving to the US we're off on our second proper road trip, and I thought this might be a good place to see if anybody had any recommendations of things to do, eat, see or try? We'll be driving and camping from Seattle to Yellowstone (via the I-90 direction), then down through Yellowstone an...

Re: Sketching in Seattle's coffee shops

I feel like I've neglected this a little, I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time at work sketching, so was a little sketched out in the evenings. But back on it now!! Back to my old thick lined Sharpie sketching for the Weekly Design Challenge on Instagram. I don't usually put lots of thumbnails ...

Yup from me too, although I like to get as big a piece as possible and try and take over a room!

Re: How are squeaky toys made?

I've always used roto casting too, with spray ops for any deco. Like Ray mentions, you really need to watch out for some of those materials, especially including Phthalates, which are commonly used to soften material used in roto casting. You'll also have to consider mould if you're considering anyt...

I have been following the development of Storyboard VR by Artefact, which they just released to the masses, it looks like it could have a lot of potential; https://www.artefactgroup.com/resources/download-storyboard-vr/ I'm on a Mac at the moment, so can't run the software, but would love to know if...

Re: Office furniture re-imagined

Hi Brandon, Your Kickstarter looks nice and polished, but I think the main thing that jumped out at me is that you have to sit on the floor with your legs out in front of you... aside from the fact that I tend to find this position uncomfortable for long periods of time, I struggle to see where I'd ...
