That looks like a redrawing issue, and not a "setting" solidworks has. You might want to check your graphics card/computer setting and make sure they are certified. Also, just try reinstalling the program.

bluefrog, thats a pretty insightful view on the new bottle. I first thought it was a nice improvement, but its seems in fixing some problems they created more. It also seems those issues would have cropped up and been addressed in user testing.

dd505uga: I suggest getting a different renderer. Bryce really isn't made for the type of render it looks like you're going for. I'd also suggest getting a normal scene looking right (walls, floors, shadows) before you attempt light fog.

hacked board

Seems like the forum got hacked... It keeps directing me to: http://www.y4hoo.net/

If you type :

http://boards.core77.com/viewforum.php?f=1 <---replace with whichever number is the forum you want

in the url window, you can still visit the forums and post to them.

Someone going to fix this? Soon?

wow, that's great. If I get some time when I get home from work, I'll post up some links to some tutorials, I've got too many, so i'll try to crop. I'm sure most of you have heard of it, but cg, if you have any extra cash, you might want to invest in some gnomon dvds. They are absolutely great. Ever...

Maya renderer had a bad rep back then. but w Maya NURBs that offset rendering problems. kicker for me was being able to share files w all the corporate Alias users. cant load a .wire into any other app afaik. for IDer that might be important. Now that they have a full integration of mental ray, the...

Nobody seems to mention Newtek Lightwave. I believe it costs around $1000. There's a reason for that. I used to be a lightwave user, even up to around 7.5. Lightwave's biggest advantage is that it offers many of the features (like a pretty good renderer) of maya or xsi, but for less. The problem fo...

Maya's great. Once i figured out how to get the iges importer to work well, ive been able to crank out some really nice renders. The implementaion of mental ray in version 6 is pretty damn good. The good thing about an animation package as compared to an engineering program is that the renderer is v...

It looks like Merc is trying to incorporate the bimmer flame styling, like above the tailights and wheel arches. the lines all look unrelated. Not a good direction although a little more memorable than the previous ML minivan. Interior looks a bit plane, but nice and refined, at least the driver wil...

I avoided brown classes for the same reason's illustrated in the previous posts. There are a number of teachers from brown who do a couple classes at risd. I found that those were the more interesting of my liberal arts classes. The MIT studio was definately one of the highlights from my risd career...

dacct, if your still around, I had to do a solidworks>maya render tonight in maya 6 unlimited mac ver. The script didn't work, but it didn't end up being cast shadows. it was visibility in reflection and visibility in refractions. The fix i found was just opening up the atribute spread sheet selecti...
