juicero already issuing refunds

Goes to show, there is a fine line between success and failure when your product overpriced, over-hyped, and easily mocked.

Re: CES 2017

I agree, not a lot of ground breaking things this year. Saw more material integration in CE, wood and leather in home theater products, that kind of thing. The major car companies seemed a bit quieter this year while Faraday made a lot of noise with their unveil.... Sting concert was good. :-) fara...

Re: Power to Hoverboard technology

def. add a few flux capacitors, and remember that this only works with zero resistance wire.

Re: CES 2017

it was nice to see some evolution in the autonomous vehicle realm. overall, nothing at the show really stood out, it was more a rehash from previous years. it has been interesting to see product lines morph and become absorbed into other companies. Take forward lighting for example. Most of the car ...

Re: Is industrial Design PINK?

Aluminum or aluminium? Jokes aside, when I think of aluminum I see natural hard anodized parts. That dull pale grey color in marketing material on the web or in print would not convey very well how cool industrial design is! technically speaking.... aluminium .... it was of british origin. probably...

Re: Creating Panels in CAD

Not sure I follow. Why not : 1) make a bunch of equally spaced panels 2) make a surface 3) boolean the surface from the panels 2 minutes work... skeletonboolean.jpg this.... super easy in solidworks (intersect tool) if you set it up as structural members, you can verify if there are any duplicates....

What I'm trying to say is, don't think of it as putting on clothes to cover your unmentionables, think of it as a design project with the potential for social engineering.

Re: No headphone jack on the iPhone 7... really?

i think this is an innovation. Love this idea although it's for sales of wireless earphones. Most of recent water-proof phones don't meet user's expectation. i hope this change from Apple could really made Iphone 7 water-proof exactly which part do you consider innovation? They are removing a featu...

Re: A few thoughts on form

I have designed a few products, nearly the same in functionality, but in regards to user interface, completely different. The more minimal designed product actually required some detail instruction for the end user to be able to understand how to use it, while the complex design appeared the most m...

Re: No headphone jack on the iPhone 7... really?

reminds me of where cell phones were prior to readily available digital music. I remember having a nokia phone (5300) https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/ca/Nokia_5300_1.jpg that was built on its mp3 functionality..... odd twist was that it had a 2.5mm jack, so you used an adapter to us...

Re: Interesting article about iPhone screens

i think apple gets held to a higher standard than it actually is, partly because it is the best and worse in its field. On the other side, you have android, which has MANY different manufacturers/developers, all on different standards. I see apple for what it is, a quality product that executes well...

Re: A few thoughts on form

I feel that things are overall better received when they appear minimal.... This applies to the actual appearance and interface. That does not mean the design itself is anywhere close to minimal. I have designed a few products, nearly the same in functionality, but in regards to user interface, comp...

Does this new lightbar warrant the hype around not having the mess of wires and screws? Design seems cool, what do you think? http://www.aps-supply.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/ECCO-Axios-modular-LED-lightbar-system-3.jpg https://i.ytimg.com/vi/H8Fy13ieGEc/hqdefault.jpg looks like the main site...
