Re: ID Job Hunting in JAPAN

I'd be very uncomfortable working somewhere and not speaking the language. Even if they give you the job you'll miss a lot of informal communication in the team.

Re: Design Concept Challenge

sketch it up! Would love to see. The first one would work best on glass doors so you'd see through to the other side. I feel like I've seen it somewhere before already. The second concept works best if the limp, flaccid pull sausage gets a bit of a breeze and wobbles about, clearly signaling its un...

Re: Design Concept Challenge

Possibly the best case is a door that opens both ways. With that out of the way I feel like this needs to go further and be more adaptible to different doors/contexts. My first quick suggestion based on how I hold my hands when pushing/pulling is to define horizontal = push and vertical = pull. That...

Just a few additional quibbles: Your skill bubbles. Are you really in the best category for those things you claim? It might be a personal preference, but those sort of graphics do just irritate me. Showing you make great prototypes is worth so much more than putting 5 bubbles claiming you're good a...

I really enjoy your photos. And your models. Super sleek, especially your thesis project.

Though some shots were a bit masturbatory and cliche. The markers or the post its.

Re: Am I crazy?

If I were in your shoes today, I would try to do some outlandish design to get my work on some blogs. In your experience, what's the step in between being on a blog and getting a job? Companies contact you because they saw you on a blog? You contact them and they're more receptive because they've s...

Re: No headphone jack on the iPhone 7... really?

What I am surprised at is that so many people here really don't seem to like Apple's decision. Apple is a business, did they do what is best for their business? Functionally/technically I just don't see the pro/con being in any way pro removing the aux. pro: more place (or they could make the phone...

You're surprised about a board called "design discussions" discussing design decisions?

How'd you get the ripstop so pretty? You have a source for golden ripstop or did you print/laminate it yourself?
Do you have any process/prototypes/sketches? would be cool to see.

Re: Industrial Design Videos for Students!

What's the benefit of you filming yourself talking into a microphone?
Are you planning on adding more video content showing things other than yourself talking into a microphone?
Do you think your content might be worth spreading in written form?
Might a podcast be a good medium for you?

Nope, we're all in the class to learn together and from each other. The only person I want to outperform is myself.
