Re: Culture at your company

A ping-pong tables does not a culture make, it is the conversations and interactions that take place while it us being used paired with the belief that the company supports and values (and trusts) the individuals having them and the relationships they are building. This of course isn't limited to Pi...

Re: Can i get into designing?

Over many years of fielding this basic question, "I have a _____ degree and I want to be a designer, should I get a Masters in Design?" the majority of the recommendation has been that if you really want to do be an Industrial Designer you should most likely pursue an undergraduate degree in Industr...

Re: What to do when you're asked to do cheap design

I would agree with IAB and Mas and add... Are there certain jobs or customers that may be more inclined to appreciate the kind of work you would like to be doing? Are there opportunities to show how your details or problem solving would ultimately save them money, or make them money? There are alway...

Re: FORM: 026 Speaker

The nature of the construction you have chosen (individual vertical slats) really highlights ANY imperfections in your parts, alignment, gaps, and tolerance. For this reason, your renderings are more successful than the physical model images for beauty shots. I would show a couple shots of the physi...

I understand it is not too far from where you are now, but is the cost of living in that area significantly different? If not, or if it is for the positive, I think I would follow my passion, HOWEVER I would not lose sight of the pay cut you took and work towards righting the course as soon as you l...

Re: Studio Tools - Show & Tell

Tack Board (or equivalent affordable 'post stuff on the wall' solution) I saw this really cool tack/bulletin board that looked like a giant rice krispie treat made of dark gray rubber erasers. Finding stuff like this online is tough though, amid all the office junk conglomerates. Any tips or sugges...
