Re: Andy's "Sketch-a-few times a week"

Concept 2 is the most simple of the forms. It would really be no.1 in the basic-crazy scale. Playing with using cork as a ‘soft’ finish material. I’ve no idea if functional buttons can be formed into cork, but I like the idea.

Re: Andy's "Sketch-a-few times a week"

Slightly exploded view of concept 1. I think the spacing between parts needed to be larger on this one.

I got inspired to try this out, so I reached for my 5+ year old highlighter (and sharpie) and threw down a car. My scanner didn't capture the super saturated pink - the highlighter is still far from being dried out.
Fun sketch!

Re: Porfolio Feedback/General Design Advice

1. Body text is too light. Either make it the same color as the INDUSTRIAL DESIGN header or increase the font weight. It needs to have stronger contrast from the background. The tracking could also be a tad tighter for smoother readability. 2. Project involvement. With the Sterilization Sink, I onl...

Porfolio Feedback/General Design Advice

Hi everyone, I'm looking for advice on direction and my portfolio. andy-mcintyre.com I've been working in architectural and sheet metal for the past 5 years, working at one very small company (less than 10 employees) and one medium company (around 50 employees). Late last year I felt like I had fina...

Re: Forgotten Concept Cars

The C111 and C112 are both very cool, as far as I can tell they never actually produced a C112, which is too bad. The Isdera feels sort of like an early Veyron with the rounded front and sloping tail.

Re: Karim Rashid Collection - Gorenje

It's fun to see some appliances with bold colour, but the kitchen that these fit into would be very very niche. Kitchen appliances in solid bright colours do exist but I think these rainbow patterns would be really straining to look at after a short time.

Re: Andy's "Sketch-a-few times a week"

Stacking makes the product flexible. If it's all one package you can't choose which functions you want, and you can't change it later if you want to add or remove a function. If your router needs updating in 12 months for a new technology, you can change just that unit, rather than replacing the ent...

Re: Andy's "Sketch-a-few times a week"

Not a dedicated speaker. It's following on from this idea: Stackable tech tower. Why do I always have to install another box with another plug when they could all just fit together? https://boards.core77.com/download/file.php?id=30145&mode=view The idea is to create a consumer level tech rack that c...

Re: Could use some portfolio feedback, medical design work

I’m looking on a tablet, and the images are really small. I think you would benefit from much larger images so I can see the details. Your logo is actually displaying larger than the work. They’re also all different sizes. Think about making the layout consistent as well as the work, because it affe...

I tried using them when I was without markers once, but found that layering really destroyed regular paper. Are you using bleedproof?

Re: Andy's "Sketch-a-few times a week"

Ortho view of the first concept. I think simple forms with tight detailing is going to be the vibe for this project.

Re: portable laptop charging (survey)

Is this a student project or commercial project? I don't see how the questions in the survey are useful. How is knowing my age or where I want to charge it going to assist your design? I want to charge it anywhere/everywhere that I might need to...I don't specifically plan on needing a charge when I...
