Re: Can you guess this Material & Process?

Does it feel light or heavy? Steel is 2.5ish times as heavy as aluminium. The tarnishing makes it look like polished aluminium. It could be die cast, but those side walls seem very thin for that. From the little tab you can see folded in on the bottom inside of the side panel, it looks like the bott...

I've got to head out to Oak Park outside of Chicago for a project in a couple of weeks and it has Frank Lloyd Wright on my brain. A quick doodle or a Wright inspired home.

Nice!

Looking forwards to seeing your Frank Lloyd Wright inspired handle Rodrigo.

Re: Portfolio/website feedback

Do you have any tips or examples of ways to show your brainstorming? Because I do that for my projects, but not always in the most presentable manner, so when it comes portfolio time, it looks like I didn't think about anything I suppose Have a look through Behance and Coroflot for examples. I don’...

Re: Portfolio/website feedback

I think that it’s currently lacking breadth of problem solving, and I want to see more brainstorming and conceptual development. I.e. did you think about a wide variety of ways to solve the problem? The technical process content (sketch, CAD, proto etc.) seems to be there, particularly for the spray...

Re: Best Laptops For 3D Rendering + Modeling

Well I was using my MacBook air for simple 3d printing with Cura so I would say if you get lucky, get a 16mb MacBook air. For now, anything with 16mb ram or more is enough. For a pc though, I would double that. This is complete crap. Every second thread in the tech forum asks the same question and ...

Re: Home Studio Essentials

+1 on anything that helps you zone into being at work, rather than at home. I think the basement setup is a good idea because it segments your work life from your home life. I also really like the fake commute concept. My essentials are a comfortable chair and a flexible workspace where I can organi...

Re: iPad Pro 2 - gripe

I don’t think I’ve ever taken a photo with my Pro, and I don’t like the camera bump on the new one. It also seems like they are machining away at least 25% of the billet for that camera if the casing is 1 piece, which being Apple, I assume it is. Expensive and wasteful. The new pencil looks good tho...

Main page menu forum button on IPad doesn’t work

I browse a lot on my iPad Pro, and in the front page menu with the 3 lines the “forums” button that normally leads to a submenu with topics, features, all forums etc doesn’t work in portrait mode. It does however in landscape.

Re: Kanye West Plagiarizes Industrial Designer's Work

No comment on Kanye because the facepalm says it all. Someone in the front page comments also noted that the KLM branding has been removed in the image that was shown. Let me get this right, the designer spent four years in CCS, and he designs an aircraft that is not manufacturable and will not fly....

Re: Olympic Torch Proposal

Awesome. I saw the first pics you put up a while ago, but I hadn’t seen it with a hand holding it for scale.

You could probably counterweight the bottom as well if needed. Are there heaps of rules (more than usual I should say) to comply with for Olympic based projects?

Re: Watch watch

I’ve wanted one of the ceramic Braun’s for a while now, but in the black. It’s great to have a story behind a quality watch like the Junghans. My daily runabout is a Mvmt Outback https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0377/2037/products/Voyager05.Side.newhands.COLOREDIT_1024x1024.progressive.jpg?v=151068...
