Re: Software find for moodboards !

You know you can open a whole bunch of images in a “stack” that imports into layers for easy scaling and manipulation...?

I use that for mood boards then set the layers to multiply and arrange/scale as needed.

Re: How Amazon Now Shapes What Our Stuff Looks Like

This particular influence on packaging I find positive though. I had to go through several packaging redesigns specifically for the Apple Store. They just wanted us to make really expensive packaging with magnetic flaps, UV inks, and over done OoBEs. All that stuff takes away from the percentage of...

Re: Finding new clients

The answer is there is no "one way". I've been running my own design consultancy for almost 12 years now. I've had clients that I previously worked for at a Corporate level. I've done trade shows and cold calling. I've got friends and friends of friends make referrals and send me business. I've had ...

Re: Mimitens Independent Designer vs. Big Brand

Sounds to me like she had no actual real invention or chance of anyone buying or licensing her “idea”. Patent pending maybe here can just mean something was filed but if lots of similar things exist would likely have no chance of actual being granted. I’m not a lawyer, mind you. I’ve been happy know...

Re: Vehicles spotted in your neighborhood

A few recents from honeymoon in Palm Springs.

I actually expected a lot more vintage rides to go with the architecture.

Amazing how the Cali weather keeps all cars so clean. Even a 5 year old Toyota looks showroom mint.

Re: Rivian R1T Electric Truck

Agreed. Better to have something people love or hate than meh. My first thought was round eyes better and tried a quick PS. But looked like something missing. (Maybe need to have larger rounds. I just chopped the squircles- need more time to try again). Plain light bar across also not enough for sca...

Re: Rivian R1T Electric Truck

Sweet. Not 100% sure if I'm digging the cartoon "eyes" headlamps, and overall lacks a bit of personality but ya, pretty nice. Not too dissimilar thinking to the Land Rover Velar, though I think this needs a bit of that refinement. It does have a very traditional LR greenhouse for sure. https://st.mo...

Re: Newly Released Work (All Product Types)

Cool stuff MD. Do they give you a reference car? For example, the red one you did looked like a Lambo/Fiero and this is sort a Datsun/Ferrari... Interesting to hear the process how your sketches translate to the detail work on their end. I assume they do the graphics and color-ups too? 200% that dif...

Re: ARE ALL TV REMOTE CONTROLS BAD?

The Apple remote looks nice, but the usability question is shifted to the Apple TV. I haven't used one, so I can't speak for its success. Apple TV UI I would say is pretty close to perfect. You can do everything intuitively, with one hand, in the dark, half asleep. I don't think I've ever had an is...
