Re: What objects do you keep on your desk?

I've seen plenty of E30-M3's but in all these years I think I've come across only one W201 EVO II... and I don't even know if its are real one at that...

Re: Beginner in MEDICAL device design_Advise/Books/website/.

Med Device is such a broad field so its hard to answer your question (surgical, orthopedic, neuromuscular stimulus, transcute drug delivery, glucose monitor, bone fusion, sport med, and so on). I don't know where you're located but attending MD&M West is a good start to see what's out there. Its lik...

Re: Explaining Reasons for Staying So Long $$$

"nope, not a shoe guy, a designer who has been working for almost 10 years on one of the most recognized global brands, creating industry leading products and experience designed for very targeted alpha users that spread down to mass. If frog design is not interested in a design leader with that ki...

Re: Got laid off... want to relocate, but where to?

Have you considered San Diego? The design scene is growing here with things like Makers Quarter and The Design Lab at UCSD (where Don Norman heads the department). We just had a big event called DesignForwardSD where they released a nice directory/website of design-oriented organizations in the SD ...

Re: Vehicles spotted in your neighborhood

A car buddy of mine has a created a nice little business doing vinyl wraps (and clear bra) for the local car scene this past weekend. He started out doing blacked out headlight housing/HID retrofit/LEDs for a local business and shifted attention to what he's doing now. He's a very entrepreneurial yo...

Re: Vehicles spotted in your neighborhood

I think so. In person it reminds me of a Lotus Esprit instead of the classic Porsche front. Nevertheless its rare but for the wrong reason. The car is immaculate for something coming from the early 80s.

Re: Vehicles spotted in your neighborhood

I saw this Flachbau 930 yesterday while going out for burgers. I'm no Porschephile but looks like a legit factory all steel front conversion from the early 80s. It was in mint condition in and out. No idea if they are rare or not.

FDA Audit

I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this topic (Admin please move if required). For those of us in the medical device industry how do you guys deal with FDA Audits? how do you organize DHF and controlled documents? I'm not sure if or how thumbnail sketches and concept sketches should be d...

Re: Any senior ID jobs around Toronto, Ca.?

I use to work ID in Toronto back in late 90s. It's a tough market since it's the only place in all of Canada with decent amount of MFG related jobs (save Ottawa area). Umbra, Teknion, KerrKeller, etc

Re: What's it like as a lone Industrial Designer?

I'm the lone ID guy in a $billion private company for the past 7 yrs. I report to VP of R&D. Its not easy and its not for everyone. You are always 'fighting' for your design to push through because the majority of people don't understand how ID as an important cog in the corporate machine. Here's th...

Re: Vehicles spotted in your neighborhood

nice YO

I see you went to C&C. My friend is the mechanic at HG Motorsports (that AMG GT-S). He owns a silver Evo IX but works on exotic metal.

That black E30 M3 belongs to my coworker's cousin- and his friend owns a Z3 M Coupe usually parked beside it.

Next weekend is HRE Open house in Vista.
