Re: 1HDC - Topic Suggestions

@yo - the engineering department on school here is currently trying to design/build a car based solely off that. If I had the time I'd throw in some work for them, even though it's silly  .

I'd really like to get involved in the next 1hdc, lets get one started!

Re: Geneva Auto Show

The three supercars all get my love, for different reasons. Lambo: they just basically said "F*ck you, we're lamborghini and we're doing this" and that's why I love it. I don't like the design at all, but it's just absurd in typical Lamborghini fashion. Ferrari: I think it's a fairly nice design, it...

Re: Laptop For Fashion Design

Depends highly on the school, but I've seen the students that work in fashion design around campus here and they do minimal design work on their laptops. Personally I think they should and have urged some of them to 'get the lead' against their upcoming competition by just having some digital work (...

Re: Transportation design at CCS or ACCD?

First, congratulations! I have a friend applying for undergraduate specifically at CCS for next year as well as myself for graduate school. Have you visited any of the campuses? If not, I'd highly recommend spending some money and getting airplane tickets. It might seem like a lot of money now, but ...

That looks ideal for most setups. Unfortunately not for me just yet, as I drag in/out my cintiq each day from my locker as there's ...

Re: Cintiq 22HD

I bought a 24HD this past summer upon my upcoming senior year. Definitely the best investment towards my future career hands down (most of my class went to Study Abroad in Rome over the summer, I bought a Cintiq!) and I don't regret it a bit! I really struggled and was easily aggravated with digital...

Re: Chain Drawing Conversations

@Nurb - hello again sir!
The armory got a decent overhaul since industrial design moved in 3 years ago. If you're able, come to Ames between April 22-27th to view the INDD Senior Showcase! It's in 203 Downtown Ames.

Re: Portfolio & Website

Thanks for the feedback Traftos, I'll look into converting this to a more chronological order of events for each project. I'll focus on one project in this new format and update this thread soon. You're right, it is currently a very product design heavy portfolio so far because of the studios that a...

Portfolio & Website

Good evening core77, For my final semester I'm now in a Portfolio & Professional Practice course, unfortunately being within the first class in the new INDD program we weren't able to take this class sooner. Anyway, over the winter break I attempted to get ahead of the curve and do my own portfolio,...

Re: ?#@*&% clear coat...

I know I'm late to the party here... But I've got a quote for my new carbon fiber hood to be painted and matching my car (3-step process too) for $300. What's so special about that paint? Confuses me... I get that you're in California and it's a Merc but wow! I personally would stay away from the wr...

Re: I have owned exactly one car I would kill for.

Watching Skyfall, I said "oh they better damn well not touch the DB5!" and then I cried a little. Very good article. I'd say I'm pretty bonded with my car. It's nothing crazy special...yet :) but it's always been the one thing I keep coming back to and spending far too much money on  then of co...

I've never really been a fan of the GOLF.
But if this one was ever put into production I'd be swayed to reconsider!
