Re: doodling

Maze, I hope you don't mind but I did a quick overlay of your sketch on my iPad to illustrate a few things. The big things are: 1- proportions, lower, wider, longer 2- wheels, tighter more skewed ellipses (lots of tutorials online here) 3- details, simplify and make them respond to one another 4- s...

Weird Rolls concept I thought of some day ago.

On another note, I should update my own sketch thread...

Re: maze's sketch thread

There's been a massive delay in sketches. Nonetheless here they are. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5560/14803364516_7cbfdf8a02_z.jpg https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3860/14824007834_52a84a3e54_z.jpg https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3885/14823275221_c22ecd03ed_z.jpg https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5585/...

Re: Digital sketching on the iPad?

I bought the stylus if anyone still cares and I'll probably post about it in the next few days. Procreate is quite versatile by the way, liking it so far.

Re: maze's sketch thread

Thanks nxakt I guess you're right, it feels weird and disconnected drawing on glass lines slips so easily there's almost less control. I think it better to see it as a tool for rendering sketches to improve the workflow of a project. Here's another batch of sketches. I kind of ran out of ideas to sk...

Re: maze's sketch thread

I've been slacking on these sketches because of school. For some reason the sketches I did on newsprint when scanned over saturate, I've tried many adjustments in Photoshop but no help would be great if some one give a hand. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5191/14208931312_930689f4f3_z.jpg https://fa...

Digital sketching on the iPad?

So our sketching tutor has been pushing us to transition towards digital sketching therefore we’ve started learning some basic techniques on Photoshop. I’m tempt to purchase a Wacom like many people. I thought since I have an iPad I could possibly make use of it as a graphics tablet to create a Cint...

Re: maze's sketch thread

This is a great start Ben, even though the line work is still a bit heavy, the cleanliness on the page is much nicer, and helps us break down your sketches. As far as the speaker design goes, I think the major critique on projects like these is to do some thinking on why this company (In your case,...

Re: maze's sketch thread

I haven't been managing my school work as well as I'll like. Nonetheless here are a very late post of supposedly last week's sketches. I would put more energy in line detail if I had more time but that's just more of a cheap excuse I guess. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7305/13892697260_dc83f89a6f_...

Re: maze's sketch thread

@yo About the overlays most of these are done observing from existing images (magazines, websites etc.) with few exception like the watches and the Land Rover that I thought of as I drawn. I've been looking into Newsprint pads as they're quite affordable to experiment at my level I think. I will get...

maze's sketch thread

Hi guys I wanted to have my own sketch thread for quite a while but not able to have enough sketches to start. Recently got back to sketching regularly so I think it’s a good way for me to learn. I will be posting new sketches here weekly and hope to get some feedback. Quick intro of myself. My name...

Re: Is it worth re-doing first year?

@Sam Here are some of my sketches for now. Really trying to find some decent thinking drawings. I never really learnt to sketch properly as most are self taught and images copied from magazines or newspapers etc. which is why the proportions are quite out. I should seriously look into proper practic...

Re: Is it worth re-doing first year?

@Sam I am currently mid-way into my first year and can post up some of my work this year so far. I will need to compile some of my drawings out from my visual journal since we keep most of our design process there. About the tutorials, they are optional but are recommended to attend and listed on th...
