Re: If you had a sit-down meeting with your favorite designe

For the sake of context and not for bragging (won't say his name but he's a D rockstar) I'll first say I was lucky enough to sit down with my design icon for an hour before coming to university. I asked him many things, some insightful, some specific, most about work etc etc but when I'm lucky enoug...

Re: Design visas and H1Bs

I'm currently a UK design student and I have every intention of going down this route as I've tried before. After going through the visa process just for an internship visa I've kind of come to the realisation that I should focus entirely on becoming the best designer possible and getting to the bes...

Re: New to freelancing- need help with this situation

At first, as a young design student with barely any experience yet, I thought I couldn't offer any good advice on this and just wait for the story to be released as a 'True ID story' but then I realised I would say this: Please don't do this job, I don't want to leave school and face people who are ...

Re: Portfolio OPEN SEASON!!

I really like your portfolio, I would suggest perhaps reducing the text however as I wouldn't have time to read through 29 pages of it (and I'm still just a student myself). Also, there are a lot of projects and I only remember the sock and the Skull headphones so perhaps focus it more? Just my thou...

Re: New MOTO G Google Phone

Ah, that would perhaps explain more. I'm pretty optimistic about this one and the battery life is certainly better than iphone. I can't say much about anything except the basics as I only use smart phones for the very basic stuff but it's looking good for this one!

New MOTO G Google Phone

So I lost my iphone the other day and went about looking for a new phone - one that was cheap and cheerful but could carry out all the basic smart phone tasks. I just heard about this new MOTO G Google phone and bought it as it seemed pretty awesome. Why is it that I just bought a phone that's bette...

App to the future, 2013

Do any of you guys know whether or not the App to the Future competition will run this year? I'm doing a module in school that integrates well with the December deadline of last year.

Re: Design For The Real China

It looks like an interesting competition but I do however have some concerns on the information given... 1) What are the categories? Is it just professional and student? 2) According to the info given in the event section on the Awards, the design that affects one person wins RMB 100,000 and the des...

Re: BMW i8

I really like the i8, I saw both the i8 and the i3 in person at the Park Lane showroom in London. I thought this one was just the spider and the transparent door one was the none-spider? I recall my brother who is a none-designer saying how over-the-top the transparent door one was...

Re: Hi, anyone can share their interview skills or tips?

Here's a tip: Don't write your resume in the Third Person. I just had one come across my desk and it read like it was trying to be a PR release. Needless to say, the qualifications weren't anywhere what they should be to pull that kind of thing off. My advise, be honest,. Be yourself. I agree with ...
