Re: Sketch-Fu: Men's Footwear

Phil your stuff is lookin really cool! And you're sketching a lot. Inspiring for sure. Jerm that old sketch is really skick. Diggin it. I haven't had a chance to do much traditional ID work this co-op, since I'm in a UI/UX position. Trying to get back on my footwear game for a possible final co-op. ...

Re: Picking a capstone

Van-ID - that's a really interesting way to think about it because it almost seems like the reverse of a natural design process. You're thinking of objectives then finding a problem that fits that, instead of asking a question and just kind of going with it and exploring naturally. Although I will s...

Re: Picking a capstone

Subscribing to this thread and eagerly awaiting answers. :D In the meantime Holly, I've been trying to think of ideas before I go to sleep (I happen to randomly get a lot of ideas at that time so I'm just making it a point to jot them down) and discussing them offhandedly with co-workers during the ...

Re: How to turn black line work into white?

Invert the image and then add a new layer behind it that's colored. Set the inverted linework to a transparency of "screen" or "overlay"

Re: Senior Capstone Project: Shopping Cart

I've recently been using an app for iOS called fooducate. It let's you scan food and helps determine how healthy it is. I realize this might not be feasible within your scope, but if a cart could help you eat better I think that would be interesting. Potentially segmenting the cart into different fo...

Re: DAAP Chair Summer 2012 - Reupholstering

Dude, that's lookin so much better! I really like the leather patch idea. The placement of that would be interesting to explore, like if you upholstered the main cushion maybe the leather could be where you'd contact the seat or backrest? It would wear differently over time too. Pardon my upholsteri...

Ben, that looks sick dude. I've been trying to get on this whole hybrid analog/digital train myself... feels a bit overworked right now.

Re: DAAP Mobile Computing Fall 2012 - Orbach

Hey everyone,

Thanks for all of your help and feedback this semester. I really appreciate it. Here is the final motion reel for the project (though I'm sure more refinement isn't too far off):

Re: DAAP Mobile Computing Fall 2012 - Orbach

I tried the op art thing on a frame from the animation, I think it might distract a little too much from the product. Even an Ansel Adams photograph, which is about as contrasty as they come distracts too much for my taste I think.... Here is the final render as well, showing both the e-ink and lcd ...

Re: DAAP Mobile Computing Fall 2012 - Orbach

Thanks Mike! How do you embed videos? I feel like I should be figuring these things out by now hahaha. It didn't even occur to me about the image on the e-ink screen. I guess I thought it was just black and white so it would always be desaturated, but I do see your point. It's kind of a warmish grey...

Re: DAAP Mobile Computing Fall 2012 - Orbach

More UI Development. Additional Screen from other group members should be coming soon!

We also discussed the best way to display a project with a service component, UI component, and product component. We'll be designing a website. So development on that will be starting soon!
