Re: Full time and part time

Yes, unfortunately working long hours is more valued than the actual output/work delivered. This is the main thing wrong about the currently dominant work culture and also why the OP got such responses. In this culture the evaluation method is: Commitment and Worth = Sacrifices made (of your persona...

Re: Google's modular phone

These concepts show the limitations of physical product design in a hurting way. What Ray and Cyberdemon said stays true today. Is it expression of googles sheer financial power, that this was not cancled yet? I mean, interesting idea. I like it, but I doubt there is a mass market for it. Isn't rug...

Re: Core77 supports Fiverr?

I kinda agree with most of what Sasha said in this thread. Been experiencing and seen this "artist mentality" among designers too much. This typical idealist-artist culture that opposes itself to money/business/marketing runs rampant in universities. Takes some time in the real world for the young d...

Re: Fuel inlet location indication..

USB c new standard goes in both ways. Better solution is gas filler on the back like my 71 Benz. That way doesn't really matter what side you pull up on (though it is on passenger side of license plate, not far off Center). Speaking of that, never really got old Porsche filler locations near the ho...

Re: Tesla Model 3, opinions/discussion

I absolutely love the front end design with the sportscar style nose, a hint for but lack of a grill and the headlights. I think that by leaving design cues for where a grill should be but not actually including it works great. It creates this intrigue and statement "I`m electric". Bold move for sur...

Re: Electric aesthetics

I think the major design and aesthetics directions in auto-industry are most dependent and shaped by the nature of the transportation rather than the power source or tech inside it. By the nature of it I mean that for the past 100 years an automobile has been a personal independent form of transport...

Re: What should Apple do with all that cash?

For shorter-term returns and business growth: - Just expand faster into the everyday lives of the consumers that are not yet dominated. Like form partnerships and get OS integrated into all major car brands, home systems etc. Take over mobile/online banking industry. For long-term world changing stu...

Re: GoPro on 60 Minutes

Interesting that GoPro makes its founder a billionaire, while Contour can't even stay in business. I think Contour did a better i.d. job, but GoPro's marketing strategy was a lesson in how to go after the intended target market. I think GoPro is one of the best modern-era case studies of how to mar...

It would be cool if they made both side doors gullwing. Perhaps even one big door like in Demolition Man:

Re: New Alfa Romeo Giulia sedan to come to the US

I think the body styling is too timid and conservative. I like the overall proportions (very much like 3 series) but the all the curves/lines/swoops feel a bit weak and held back, specially when compared to BMWs strong sidelines, curves on the hood etc. Front end is Alfa Romeo no doubt but could als...

Re: Designers selling on Amazon

Unless you are successfully driving traffic from your other websites, landing pages or advertisements to your amazon product page, then yes the product will get lost within hundreds of thousands of other items. I think amazon can be useful for using as a distributing (their FBA service) and payment ...
