Re: Places to visit in Stockholm and Copenhagen?

I'd throw in Artipelag in Stockholm if you have time to go. It's a bit outside of the city, but a really nice place to go see. (similar to Louisiana, but smaller) http://www.artipelag.se/ If you want to have a look at the trendy areas around Stockholm, you can go to Söder and just stroll around. Go...

Re: Places to visit in Stockholm and Copenhagen?

Oh cool. I love both. have lived ether near or in both cities for a while. Copenhagen Awesome for shopping, especially design-y niknak at shops like HAY or NormannCopenhagen. The Nørrebro neighborhood is probably my favorite to stroll around in. Great bars, cafes and restaurants. One of my favorite...

Re: Places to visit in Stockholm and Copenhagen?

I've only been to Copenhagen once and it was a blurry 36 hours of fun. Lots of good design shops. I wish uncoils be of help with some specifics. Have you tried the Wallpaper magazine city guides? Thanks Yo, No I haven't used the Wallpaper Guides before, are they a design-centric guide? I'm keen to ...

Re: Places to visit in Stockholm and Copenhagen?

Well I have been to Stockholm nearly 30 years ago as a teenager. We spend a wonderful summer there. What I still remember is the "millesgarden" : See for yourself: http://www.millesgarden.se/about-millesgarden.aspx It is a magical place located on a suburbian island that was kind of a secluded geta...

Places to visit in Stockholm and Copenhagen?

Hej

I'm on holiday in Scandinavia, currently in Norway but will soon be in Stockholm and Copenhagen for 4 days each. Can anyone recommend some design studios, events, museums etc which are worth visiting? Also happy to hear about places to eat or other attractions!

Tak!

Re: Ner core77 UI

I liked how the old UI had articles stacked in chronological order and showed a "preview" of sorts. That way I could easily pick and mix the articles that grabbed my attention and navigate through sections I may have missed. I really find this hard with the new UI. I agree that perhaps it is more vi...

Re: Grad portfolio book for international jnr or intern

Hey Andrew, as you know I am yet to make my own portfolio. However these are some observations just from looking over your folio and trying to think as though I was looking to hire you:) Page 1 - Perhaps something to make it stand out in the stack of folios? Pg 2 - I like the visual contents list, t...

Re: Feedback needed on webpage Layout and Formatting

On the glam, its a great shot and it fits well it just doesnt show the greatest aspects of your work and design. Oh and the linear thing you see a lot is do to the fact that all these guys are using templates for blogs and not really coding and moving things around as much as changing graphics to a...

Re: Feedback needed on webpage Layout and Formatting

Thanks for the feedback and advice. Much of what you have said makes a lot of sense. First, and I might be alone and old school on this one but kill the scroll for a million moments to get anywhere. Tell the story in just one clean one page load. Sitting there waiting and lets be real not every wher...

Feedback needed on webpage Layout and Formatting

I am currently creating a website for my design work and have made a presentation for one product. I am just wondering if the layout and storytelling for the product makes sense? I would appreciate any feedback before I transfer all my work into a similar layout/format as per your suggestions. http:...

Re: Sketching Feedback and Advice...

So I got some Prismacolor pencils and had a go at Ideating some Cameras, mostly a form study and getting used to the pencils. I like the ability to apply the pencil lightly and then define the form by pressing firmly, keeping the pencil sharp seems to be critical though.
Thoughts?

Cheers...

Re: Sketching Feedback and Advice...

Thanks Michael, I have admired your sketching skills in the 'doodling' forum for a while now. Yes I think I do need to relax more and concentrate on exploring the designs, thought I find it difficult to 'create' a design on the page... maybe another area for me to work on:) No I haven't done underla...

Topic: Coffee Table Felt my ideation was not relaxed enough so I tried loosening it up and sketching with a felt tip. Not sure if it worked though :) I have been sketching on A4 so I can fit it in my scanner but I don't feel I have enough room to freely sketch or apply details so I will start doing ...
