Re: Leather Boots all around - What to buy?

Nice US manufactured picks, tough with goodyear welt. Those Thorogood boots are nice but some of the other styles get a little Herman Munster-ish. If your gonna break with the US manufacturing Timberland's Abington brand has some nice boots. They usually have a Vibram Christy sole same as the Thoro...

Re: Dress Shoe suggestions

In terms of quality I would go for the Kenneth Cole. It's looks like pretty decent quality for the price. Hugo Boss has some nice shoes as well although I think they focus too much on quantity instead of quality. Some of the other shoes mentioned have too poor leather quality IMO. The thing with som...

Re: NEW KICKS :: latest purchase

Hi R, I don't want to spoil the party but I believe Grensons aren't made in england anymore. A couple years ago they had a more conservative line which was more expensive and made in england. Then they got rid of it and now only have a trendier line, a bit cheaper and all uppers made in India or so ...

Re: Will shoes ever be made in America?

Shoenista,

Do you know more about the practices of the english shoemakers?

Grenson for example. I hear they do all their uppers in India now without exception and finish them in England and can still put made in england on them.

Re: Will shoes ever be made in America?

New to the footwear industry and learning about the challenges of making shoes in the US. Would it ever be possible to portion off the manufacturing process so that the soles were developed and produced in Asia and then the rest of the shoe was produced domestically (stitching/putting it all togeth...

Re: Sketch-Fu: Men's Footwear

Yeah, I thought there was a resemblance with the Sak Converse as well but no biggie imo since it's still a nice sneaker.

Pull&Bear, however, is just horrible.

That looks really good, David. What materials did you have in mind for chukka 2 for the quarter, vamp, foxing, binding, toe bumper etc?

Re: What is it about shoes?????

Why, may I ask, exactly , does that "sound so amazingly ignorant"? And what does English have to do with it? Ok, I'm going to answer those questions althought I'm pretty sure those must be rhetorical. It sounds ignorant because " There are only two forms of adornment that a man is alowed to wear pr...

1. Really? That's quite a grand statement

and 2. I really hope you're not a native english speaker because that sounds amazingly ignorant.

Re: Nike Air Mag- Back to the Future II shoes

I love this project. I'm a big Back to the future fiend Of course they say that the power laces will be available in 2015 because he buys them in 2015 in the movie but it doesn't mean that they won't try to get real working power laces by then. It would only give it real meaning if they would now it...

Re: Newly released work

Lovely sketches and rendering, yo.

Was this your final rendering? Why or at what point did you decide to alter your design from three to four eyelets, reinforced stitch removed, punched star instead of stitchline only, contours along the counter? And is that counter in the rendering pebble leather?
