Re: Non falling Screw-heads

louis, seems like this is what I was looking for. At least, by searching online "captive washers" I found videos demonstrating what I want to achieve. Cyberdemon's suggestion seems identical but for a strange reason, by searching "Retainer clips" I could find websites/videos providing info on how th...

Re: Non falling Screw-heads

Cyberdemon, thanks a lot for the information, much appreciated. It seems like this is what I am looking for in terms of description but in the link you sent and what I saw through my own research later on, seems like this solution needs that the retaining rings are fastened in an individual "sandwic...

Non falling Screw-heads

Hi all, I am trying to source a kind of screw-heads I have seen (in tripods for example) that although you unscrew them, they do release-unscrew but they do not come out or fall. It is just as if a bit before they come out, there is something that stops them. I cannot find their name/type even to sh...

Re: Past Projects (in Consultancy) shown in New Personal Com

DanLewis, no, I am located in Greece, that is why I am checking EU IP laws. My mistake, I thought it was stated in a previous post.

Re: Past Projects (in Consultancy) shown in New Personal Com

Had a quick discussion with my lawyer on the matter we discuss here. If you were an employee then the work you did for your employer is Work For Hire. DanLewis is correct, this is what my lawyer told me. However, he added that the relevant law in EU countries (may not be the case in US) also states ...

Re: Past Projects (in Consultancy) shown in New Personal Com

That would be really interesting to know. Good morning, as soon as I have a response, I will post it here for the community's reference (just reference of course). What you mention about having the designer's name on the patent, in a sense doesn't it imply the recognition of the creator-designer's ...

Re: Past Projects (in Consultancy) shown in New Personal Com

@ bepster, if I recall correctly, still some rights remain to the individual creator who did the design, despite the fact that she/he was an employee in a design studio. To be on the safe side though, I asked my lawyer and I am waiting for his response. @sketchgrad, thank you as well for your time t...

Re: Past Projects (in Consultancy) shown in New Personal Com

Bepster, thanks for the information you provide. All the projects I am planning to show are already in production or have been promoted (design awards etc.). Furthermore, I intend to show projects that I was personally involved and material that I created. Besides, all the material has been recreate...

Past Projects (in Consultancy) shown in New Personal Company

Hi all, Just want to hear your opinion on the following subject. I had been working in a Design Consultancy but now I am setting up my own personal design studio. I was wondering if it is ethical or even legal to present projects I was working on (I was responsible for them as well as I designed the...

Re: Plastic Chair Injection Molding Issue - White Marks

Cyberdemon, interesting thinking. As far as I know, the manufacturer records the production sequence of each test injection so I will pass to them your remark to check if there is any correlation between time of injection and defect.

Re: Plastic Chair Injection Molding Issue - White Marks

Cyberdemon, ralphzoontjens thank you for the advice. Much appreciated your time and input. The area is designed to be smooth and most of the case after the injection, it remains smooth. However, in some failed test injections there were some few chairs that had a small bump there. The manufacturer h...

Re: Plastic Chair Injection Molding Issue - White Marks

Michael, thank you for your quick response and suggestion. Interesting point about the release agent, I will suggest to the engineers to consider it as well. As for the 2nd injection gate, it is a solutions that it is been discussed, so it is not a "no". May I ask though, despite faster injection ti...

Plastic Chair Injection Molding Issue - White Marks

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone of you has experienced similar issue with the one we currently face. Alongside a chair manufacturer we work on a chair design (full plastic, PP + glass-fiber) and in the edge of the seat and back (front side as shown on the picture bellow), after the injection and t...

Re: Designer As Consultant for Startup - Collaboration Model

@KenoLeon, hehe, thanks, that is an all time classic :-) @rkuchinsky, in the end I billed a pre-paid X amount of hours for $Z/hour. It worked, they agreed, payed and we started our collaboration. I also set a 2 month time-frame they will be allowed to use these X hours. Will see how it works :-) Tha...

Re: Designer As Consultant for Startup - Collaboration Model

Another question regarding a prepaid retainer of let's say X hours. Do you think it is advisable to break down the hours to the specifics actions that are expected to consume these X hours? For example A hours research B hours teleconference etc. or just sell a package of X hours to reach, what I co...
