Re: Aluminum flex and yield over product life

Hi All, need some insight. Working on a small enclosure that requires aluminum to slightly flex to disengage a simple opening mechanism. The aluminum will be milled in the final product. Has anyone come across anything similar? Can aluminum flex ever so slightly and the elasticity will last many ye...

Re: New Beats Studio headphones

I'm starting to see the old Studio headphones on sale at fire sale prices now . I've never previously thought of headphones as something with a shelf life. guess that's the way everything is going. strange times we live in. What? Everything has a shelf life, some longer than others. A great example...

But I don't blame them in being able to see through a new shade of lipstick, faster processor and a new means for the NSA to collect their fingerprints.
but isn't every "S" model launch the same since they started making iPhones? same phone, spec upgrade.

Re: Studio Audio Solution for streaming music from multiple

Spotify doesn't really allow us to play MP3s or stream from websites like hype machine or indie shuffle. The key is Sonos. Spotify is just a source you select. You can also pull from most other streaming services or play local files. The nice thing is that anyone on the network can control Sonos, a...

Re: 3D printers!?!?! Have one? Create prototypes?

Is the design intent that it will be made from cardboard in production? Why not make the prototype from cardboard as well? Also, if you make those large, flat surfaces with most 3D printing tech, you'll need to overbuild it and it will be heavy and expensive.

Re: 2012 Win8 Sketching Tablets

regarding the issue of on board intel GPU vs the Nvida option... We just demoed the Lenovo Helix (mid tiered version, i5, 4GB ram) at our office and I was pleasantly surprised at how it handled the SW viewport. It wasn't butter smooth and the model was relatively simple, but it worked. I wouldn't re...

The geometry is definitely more refined and less over the top without losing too much of the equity of the previously successful product.

Re: So, I'm done with Apple bootcamp, parallel, etc.

I just want to add a quick point of dissent. Personally I love Windows 8. Yes, I did re-enable the start bar, but otherwise I have very few qualms with it. It starts up significantly faster than Win7, has less obtrusive updates, is more secure, and is zippier overall. I've also not encountered a si...
