Professional Development Courses Workshops

I am mostly looking for exhibit design, typography/info-graphic professional development courses in North America. Preferably with museums as the context.
Anyone have any websites or organizations that may offer these?

Re: Light Panel Personal Project

I'm not sure how much research you've done behind why light does the things that it does. But I am not sold on simply replicating your experiences with window lighting. In the end of the project I would ask you why it does the things it does. I would require sufficient scientific evidence as answers...

Re: InDesign Help

Hmm bummer :(

Both versions are CS 6.
Double clicking does nothing.

Yah the rest of the document is very type heavy. This is just an illustration I need for a small part of the overall design. Was just hoping I didn't have to do it the slow way.

Thanks for the help!

Re: InDesign Help

I'd like them separate so I can work with fills, stroke and arrangements with the text in ID.

Just not sure why I can't ungroup them???

InDesign Help

UGH is all I have to say about indesign :P I am trying to bring multiple paths from Illustrator into Indesign. However when I copy/paste them. They come in 'grouped' as one object. Indesign will not let me ungroup or treat them as multiple paths. Anything I can do besides copying and pasting every o...

Re: When will this design dictatorship ever end?

Probably when 3d printing becomes viable in a more local setting. Torrented/online designs will open up a very large platform in what the average consumer is allowed to access. In turn hopefully the retail market will become much more competitive and innovative in its market instead of suing it's cu...

Re: GoPro on 60 Minutes

Speaking of gopro and helmet cams.
Why was there no helmet cam on one of the coolest thing done in the past 5 years!?
Felix Baumgartner jump has about 5 seconds of cool footage and then they show a dark fuzz falling through unfocused sky from a camera on the ground.

Mac OSX Interface

Well the new design job has forced my transition into a mac based platform. I've been using it for 2 months now. I was wondering if anyone would elaborate for me on what would make the 'window' style of running software ie. Photoshop, Illustrator and Rhino better than the running of snap windows tha...

Re: The mouse faces extinction as computer interaction evolv

With resolutions growing, monitor sizes growing and the use of tv's/projectors for PC use.. The mouse is the most viable and efficient tool.
Until computers can start reading my mind then the mouse will forever be the best.

Re: Door handles

I know some corvettes have really bad inner door handles.
Also Mini Cooper's have the worst door handle designs ever. They pinch your fingers. Unless you are very careful.

Re: Rotary/Oscillating Multitools and You

In what context was the jury rig added to the machine.. I get the sense that the piece of wood was added on as the tool was being used in a situation where it isn't necessarily used. The dremel is meant to do small hobby type work. If brought into a very repetitive setting then the other rig as post...
