Re: Which should i choose?CCS and RIT

Many questions... what is your main interest in pursuing design masters degree? The nature of trans design and communication design are very different, so it's really apple and oranges. Honestly, a trans masters degree alone isn't going to get you a car designer job ( unless you already are one or h...

Complete process sharing?

Long story short, 1.5 years ago I quit my comfortable design career for many reasons, one was to sort some things out before I can continue, the other was to take a totally different route of how I want to spend the rest of my life - Sharing. No I don't have a lot of money to give away nor am I goin...

Need advice on a weird people/ego/technical/safety issue

I haven't been back here for ages, but thought I can get some advice here. I can't figure out what category this fits. Architecture? Furniture? Material and process? Over the past week, I've been helping out at a renovation of a elementary school library space. The design and construction of the pro...

Re: what about Taiwan?

I grew up abroad currently working in the US, so I have been making observation on Taiwan (and South East Asia) from a 3rd person's perspective. Work environment wise, I think it has already been well described. I just want to add one thing. Taiwanese are very friendly to foreigners. Taiwanese are v...

Re: Camera Bag

This is definitely a hard one to tackle, something that I've been trying to solve but have no real good solution. First of all, what exactly do you mean by "amateur sports photographer"? Can you describe who this person may be and what's your insight on this target group? I have two camera bodies an...

Re: Precision photoshop rendering processes- what works for you?

Like MasterBlaster, I use Rhino to create 2D curves because the tools are simply awesome, quick and precised. It gives me all the accuracy, such as radius and curve profiles. A few days ago I had to create quite a few icons and I did it really quick in Rhino instead of illustrator. It also helps to ...

I did that, but it did not transfer the popup menu, you know, the one that appears when you click the middle mouse button.

i also tried exporting the "options" profile. Did not work either.

Rhino popup menu export?

Can I export my popup menu that I have customized and load it on another computer? If not I will have to make it all over again.

I can't seem to find the info online and Rhino site too.

Re: Your opinions on schools you didn't attend

In the interest of stereotyping, what are your opinions of the schools you didn't attend? This could be from word of mouth, experience with co-workers, whatever. CCS, Art Center, VT, Cincinnati, RISD, Carnegie Mellon, RIT...the list goes on. Just so you know, I'm not using this to select a school. ...

Art Center - Snobs...j/king. Phenomenal car and entertainment designers, but Product Design is a bit underwhelming. Got to have a rich daddy to go there. CCS - Blue collar version of Art Center kids. Do more for less. Think Art Center students are snobs, hence my comment on Art Center kids! Cincinna...

Remember to save the packaging. It will become a classic.

My first product at my current job is already copied by another brand before it's even on the shelf. The reason why I am sure it's not original is because the other half of the product looks just like another competitor's design. Damn Chinese factories.

It's not so much of the "what", but the "why" that makes or breaks it for me.
