Hefty, I got my transfer credit evaluations in the mail, but so far nothing else. I actually visited the school a couple of weeks ago, brought in my portfolio and got a really positive reaction from the people there. I have a feeling it greatly improved my chances of getting in. I talked to a facul...

I appreciate your insight - really helpful. Essentially, yes - I think 'model shop/sculpture studio' is probably more accurate. I dont have the high-end equipment - I do everything by hand aside from a rotocaster for hollow castings and all my materials are RTV. When I need machined or high-toleran...

Re: Small Consumer Product Design Firms?

I'm looking to get an internship this summer, and I really want to find a smaller ID firm that does a lot of consumer products. I want to be able to get a lot of hands on learning so I think a smaller firm would let me experience that, and I want to be able to see a verity of projects. Anyone know ...

Can you get pressure graduation out of it, like with a Bic? I don't like Gels or Rollerballs for sketching because the ink comes out at 100% regardless of pressure. I really hate those pens... it's like when you are a little boy and can't control your hand :) and you always pressure your pen too mu...

This is funny. I've never seen an adult with Heelys on. My wife wants a pair to goof around on. She said they didn't come in adult sizes. I guess she's wrong or these guys you work with have small feet. I wouldn't discharge your wife so fast... some men have really small feet like a ballet dancers ...

Hey Deez, I've been working with keypads for my master thesis project and from what I know and learned I can tell you this: Unfortunately I've never seen a computation format keypad that also has the alphabets. (Perhaps you can consider putting rub-on letters on this type of keypad?) If I were you ...

[quote="Blaak"]There is two levels of model making. 1) Models to study the form, 2) "Prototype"/presentation models. Having a good drawings skills and good model making is a plus but we don't all have time to do everything. Especially in a mid-size/large design firm. That's why there are different d...

Re: quick concept sketch tutorial

Wouldn't this be much easier to do with Adobe Streamline and Illustrator. I've done this for years with gradients and masks and it's much more simple than what you have described. In my opinion it is not easier using the Adobe Streamline. I think it is the 3d factor that makes the difference. I nev...

Brazil certainly has that. Alcohol cars. Ethanol pumps at every station. All true. But don't hold your breath. Ain't gonna happen here. Same reason the Stone Cutters are keeping the cure for cancer under wraps. It'll knock the healthcare and medical industry out of wack. Ethanol is great idea. Howe...
