Re: What headphones do you use?

I have some Skullcandy Hesh wireless headphones for work. The Hesh has a cable you can add if the battery is low, and that cable has a mic and play/pause switch. For other stuff, Shure SE530's, worth every penny. I do need to mail them in to Shure to get them replaced do the a cable cracking, hopefu...

I'd put it on red, but I'm sure Apple would go black.

Re: IDSA Midwest District Conference

Is Anybody going to the IDSA MwDC in Champaign-Urbana this spring (2016)? Last time the University of Illinois hosted the event it was AWESOME. The short tidbit they have online about it makes it sound as if it will be very heavy on UX this year. At the last UIUC midwest con they had : Cat Chow, Kar...

Sewing machine modification

Hello, If this is Off Topic, please move it there. My mother acquired an extra Husqvarna Viking 6370 Machine for $5, dropped another $190 on service, and is giving it to me. This machine has a two speed motor so I can sew denim and canvas (why I want a machine), I learned to sew industrial things on...

Re: What are you reading?

I just wrapped up a bunch of stuff, audio books and not even all of them since the summer... Why We Build Things, and Why it Matters by Peter Korn - I liked it a lot American Gods by Neil Gaiman World War Z by Max Brooks - Way better than the movie, and I liked the movie Norwegian Wood by Haruki Mur...

Re: 3D Printing Holy Grail?

If you want the pellets I'd say just make it yourself. If that is not appealing (I will guess it is not, since you don't want to "dick around") I have had very good luck with the Stratasys machines, every once in awhile you will get a hiccup but typically you can figure out what the cause was and th...

Re: What cell phone do you own?

So I'm stuck between Iphone6 on Sprint for very cheap (via fam plan), staying with At&T unlimited $85/mo, or copping the Nexus or moto X and rocking out in the free world (other carriers). How is Sprint in cities? Can PCS BS work internationally?

Re: What cell phone do you own?

I have the Samsung Galaxy S3, with an At&t unlimited data (but if you hit 5GB stuff will just not work anymore), unlimited texting and more minutes than anybody uses anymore, all for ~$85/mo. I'm an original At&t mobile customer, and that will get you nowhere with them as far as flexibility is concer...

Cont. Ed. Classes for UX in Chicago or online

I'm looking to take a continuing or non-degree seeking class for UX design for this spring. I'm in Chicago so SIAC, Columbia, DePaul, are among a few options. If any students or alumni have any suggestions please chime in. Also I'd be up for an online class, if anybody has a suggestions or warnings ...

What do you know of the Design academy of Eindhoven? I feel the common oppinion is that TU Eindhoven is second tier to DAE and TU Delft. I ask because I am applying to some of these schools for grad school for fall 2015. And any light you can shed on the programs would be very helpful to me.

Re: COPIC or PRISMACOLOR

They work together also. I'd buy a few color runs of each and go from there. The old Letraset (SP?) tri tipped markers with Pantone color names are really nice, the new Letraset markers S U C K. Do not buy them. The Letraset paper is real nice but Bienfang 360 flipped over is really my first choice ...
