Re: Backpack ideation critique please

I like the ideas, but there are a few things I would change as far as in the communication of those ideas. As a few people mentioned, there is too much content for one page. That would work if you create layers of information, meaning that you put more emphasis on a few sketches that you like, proba...

Re: water vending machine design help!!

Following on BEARCAT's Idea, to give the system a purpose, you can think of adding a REWARD PROGRAM. Personally, at this state of how the idea is presented, I don't see any motivation to go all the way with an empty bottle to fill it up again (and paying for it?!?)... ...People are already doing thi...

Custom Wall Design (painting)

I know we're in a product design forum and it's not the best place for this to be, but I just wanted to share this project I did for my cousin's apartment. Here's what it looks like now (sorry for the bad image quality) If you want to see...

I personally think you should work on your graphic design ability. Your projects would look much better, even if they're already good looking. Just to give it an extra touch.

I tend to use guidelines in that broad sense as well. I'm more concerned about the overall direction. If I want the collection to move toward the West, that doesn't mean that there might not be great design opportunities to the North or South, but we are only interested in Westward ideas. I think i...

Guidelines should be as broad as possible leaving freedom to smart creative minds do what hey were trained to do. And I insist on the "smart" because these people have to take into consideration many things to build a product that follows the image of a certain company. As a young designer, I always...

I really dislike what they did with the new Avensis (don't know if you get it in the US?). My parents drive the 2006 model and to them it's an awesome car. Yet they said they won't be upgrading, based on the looks alone. http://autoworld.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/toyota-avensis-2009-img_10.jpg Th...

Apparently, designing a full face helmet for commercialization is a hell of a job. You have to consider allot of anthropometric measures and races with different bone placement. Math is not what I like the most in design, so I hope that if I ever get to design one, there will be a couple of engineer...

Well its only because of the little sketch above showing quite a small wheel, but in reality, that would be a wide wheel with really rounded corners. It will add stability and will reduce the drag from having a fourth wheel.

ID was born from Architecture and is just a specialization now, you can basically have fun doing ID while doing architecture e.g. design your own furniture for a certain building. Actually ID was born from the trades. Pre industrial revolution craftsmen became pattern makers at the factories which ...

I suggest that you go with architecture, keeping an eye on industrial design by hanging out with IDers and taking good note of what they learn in order to widen your capabilities. ID was born from Architecture and is just a specialization now, you can basically have fun doing ID while doing architec...
