Re: Women in Industrial Design

I think it has a lot to do with how long it takes for changes in culture to become part of the mainstream consciousness. It wasn't that long ago when gender norms were much more regid when all men were expected to play sports, be the breadwinner, and do "manly" things while women were in charge to h...

Suggestions for potential Offsites in the New England area?

Hello y'all this question pertains to anyone familiar with the New England area. I would like to set up an offsite somewhere for my team. We don't seem to get out very much and I think it'd be great if we could leave our office and check out some interesting stuff to get our creative juices flowing....

Re: Kenny Powers K-Swiss ad.

Everyone I've shown has busted out laughing. Incidently not one of those people has asked about the product itself. I think it's a hilarious video, but it's kind of in the same league as the Terry Tate: Office Linebacker videos. I'm curious to see if this will translate into sales.

Re: Sketch-Fu: Men's Footwear

charliexboi: I don't even use layers anymore, I just group stuff together and work in isolation mode a lot. For example, I'll group the midsole stuff together and group the upper seperately. You can also do multiple fills and strokes in the same shape, which is great for adding gradients and meshes....

Re: Sketch-Fu: Men's Footwear

I would recommend spending more energy on Illustrator for renderings. PSD's can be rather large files, and editing and tweaking is somewhat limited when compared to Illustrator. You'll find it's a lot easier to change color and parts of the shoe as well.

This is a sketch page, not a dumping grounds for your projects. Start a separate thread if you want feedback on projects.

Re: Sketch-Fu: Men's Footwear

Diggin the sketches archie, wish I was at home with the pen and pad right now. I'd be more interested to see where the Ultraflight would go with today's technology, or even tomorrows innovation. I don't really see any point in reworking something using the same materials. Or breaking down the essenc...

Re: Sketch-Fu: Men's Footwear

I thought the forefoot was freakishly long in the sketches as well. Good thing it didn't translate to the final product.

Re: Scion FR-S Sports Coupe Concept

I'm not much of a car enthusiast but I don't see Scion DNA in this at all. I've always associated the Scion with the consumer who wants a car with a good balance of style and flexibility, at a decent price. I don't see that in this concept.
