Re: Which Product Design Program to Choose?

I suggest getting a minor in ID as opposed to a Masters in ID I find that Mechanical Engineers w/ Masters in ID struggle. I could elaborate. Those that I meant that have both Minors seam stronger.

Re: Will AI Take our jobs

AI assists Engineers now exp with FEA work. I could get specific if anyone cared. My thought on this is that design will be the last to go with artificial intelligence.

Re: T-Splines replacement?

Creo has Sub'D in it's base package (comes stock) and SW is working on a Catia Kernel (not sure if they gave up yet) that will run a Sub'D utility. Catia and UG already have that as a module that costs 10k +

Re: Unexpected places your designs have shown up

Design engine was working with retired buyers from a major hardware outlet store. We were working financially on royalties. As a team we developed several products per month only later to find them on the shelf at the retailer. Asking the buyers what up with this they claimed this is a different ske...

Re: WorldSeries: Solidworks vs Creo

at design engine we call one approach to modeling helmets the toupet method where one uses a 4 part boundary at the top then trim that back. There are several approaches to building helmets. All the approaches or workflow or thinkmap .... what ever you call it is the same comparing SW and Creo. Alia...

Re: Naming your business

Interesting discussion. We help companies over the years come up with company names among other branding concepts. Re Association I especially like the 're associations' like Frog Design. I recall describing to customers about re allocations and using Frog as the example that being a successful comp...

Re: WorldSeries: Solidworks vs Creo

More Spam I guess .... Got my Dell Precision 7100 in today. It actually has an optimization tool for various profiles. Set it to Illustrator , Solidworks or Creo. There are about 10 others. By the way I was posting the two helmets one modeled in Creo and one modeled in Solidworks to stir up some dis...

Re: WorldSeries: Solidworks vs Creo

with the world series and all.... Im not much of a baseball fan I thought it appropriate to model batting helmets. I've been trying to do a model per day as fun sorta like how designers post on Instagram a sketch per day. Football helmet next I guess.

Re: Rendering Software for Solidworks

I for one would like to see more renders from everyone. Esp if it's native in Solidworks and not using a plugin. What we need in our workflow is a tool that does good enough otherwise a plug in is necessary.
