Re: Best way to save and store your design ideas in one place?

I was using onenote for notes, but it seems like Evernote is faster and has more features. I don't keep many sketches outside of books and binders, but I do have a folder on my network storage where I drop images, PDFs, spec sheets, etc. I used to have it on a USB key, but now I have a NAS and I'll ...

Re: Forgotten Concept Cars

As an aside, if everyone stops making cars, I hope I can get autonomous cross over, because why should I bother driving a bloated piece of ___ like that.

Neon: What an iconic ad. Man, Chrysler was hitting it out of the park with design and marketing!

Re: Forgotten Concept Cars

The K-car, the Le Baron and the minivan saved Chrysler, the Neon made it relevant again. Under-30s probably can't understand just how out of step the big 3 were in the '80s. The Neon ('93) and the Taurus ('86) were the anamolies that almost responded the rise of the imports. They were both climbing ...

Re: Forgotten Concept Cars

I remember reading that the production Neon was going to have ugly square lights to save money, but the reaction to the Neon concept was so positive, the team was immediately told to put the round lights on. What a cool concept car though. I wish the sliding doors had made it through to production.

Re: What is BMW doing?

ICE still has innovation. Infiniti just debuted a variable compression ratio engine! I think the gap in perceived quality has narrowed between luxury cars and everything else. I think that's why everyone is tossing in big LCDs to tell you how expensive the car is. I haven't sat in Stinger yet, but w...

Re: The Official Hubless Wheel hater thread.

They tried hard to give it a hubless look by never taking photos from the other side. It's more like a single sided swing arm in motorcycling.

Re: GM Death Watch

Cars are dying. It's interesting to note that Ford has made another big improvement in the Focus and Fiesta, but only for the ROTW, not Americaland. However, it's also of note that the Qashqai and the Tiguan are now in Europe's top 10 and every company with a Euro focus is working like made to get s...

Re: Sharing your salary with coworkers

I've tried to be more open about my salary, even with co-workers. If asked, I will tell, but I don't volunteer it. The thing is that this information is that keeping it secret ONLY helps the employer. Maybe if the average worker was more open about it, we would have the kind of wage growth that we'v...

Re: A.I. "designed" cars

It's interesting to note how derivative all those cars are. That's obviously how this product was designed, but it's not what makes successful product design as the top selling cars and trucks of 2018 do not look like they are from 2008. Sure, the form factor is traditional, but the exectution is cr...
