Re: 1HDC 10.03 - Gestural Interfaces - Submissions

Synopsis: One morning I was grinding some coffee beans. While pouring some coffee into the espresso cup, I got distracted and spilled some coffee on the floor. Immediately I started thinking, what would be the easiest way to clean this mess up? 1) Roomba, nah that would take forever 2) Vacuum, nah ...

Hula Guy Business Card

This next video documents the thought process of designing and making the Hula Guy Business Card. Though this design was completed from start to finish in less than an hour, it took twice as long to film with my digital camera. My cameras...

KidBottle

What no prize, not even a t-shirt. Okay, well I can’t resist a design challenge. I kind of borrowed the kidrobot’s form and thought it might make a pretty cool bottle. It’s kind of a bottle/buddy/bear. Sketch is composed of sharpie and prisma markers on tracing paper (doesn’t scan very well)...

Shopping Sling

The Shopping Sling This plastic bag problem is enormous. I think the plastic bag problem in other countries is more about getting rid of those stupid thin plastic bags which you normally put your fruits and vegetables in. Those bags are useless and don’t have any kind of second life because they ...

I’m voting for awa64. The idea of limiting your shower with a timer is simple yet effective. A slight improvement might be the addition of a pause button. I also have to give kudos to bornsleepy for the bluesky hydroponics shower idea. I like the idea of a closed water system and plant purification.

Furo Scrubber

Furo Scrubber combines a mesh sponge, body wash soap, and water sprayer for a unique cleaning experience. Taking a Furo or “bath” in Japan involves washing your body with soap, sponge and water bucket prior to getting into the communal bath. Using this inspiration the Furo Scrubber was born. Fur...

Dish-washable, that’s a great insight! Mingle would ideally be made from mahogany veneer that would be stained and finished with a clear coating. Thou, I do like the idea of black, white, red or even clear plastic for the base, I have a soft spot for bent hardwood plywood.

Bombay Sapphire Martini Glass Design

My Entry: http://i18.tinypic.com/2saikv8.jpg “Mingle” combines the iconic form of the martini glass and a user centric design approach. "Mingle" consists of a double-walled glass bowl that insulates a cool drink from warm fingers. The bowl can be set in the base when the drinker is not holding o...

Cool Project!

The idea of being able to stow away magazine under the glass is great. It's like they are in reach but not in your way.
