Umea in Sweden: http://www.dh.umu.se/default.asp?sida=93

RCA in London: http://www.rca.ac.uk/pages/study/ma_interaction_design_171.html

Ivrea in Italy: http://www.interaction-ivrea.it/en/index.asp
(the Ivrea program has moved to Domus Academy: http://www.domusacademy.com/
click ‘english’, then ‘DA & IDI - Master in I-Design’)

There is an intresting new school coming up in Copenhagen http://ciid.dk, that is based a lot on the work culture and the project based academic structure of Interaction-Ivrea. It is being founded by ex co-director, professor and alumni of Ivrea. Please remember it is not the same as Ivrea but tries to continue the philosophy in a transformed way to suite new and emerging educational models.

Umea is the worst school!
You can know that when you are there.

European Media Master of Arts

i suspect.

In Germany we just started to take that Bachelor/Master/Phd system. Our system is between B/M (Diploma) and M/Phd (Doctor). So the change is sometimes not compatible with the way we study and learn. But here the three main universities:

—Germany-Weimar—
Media Art and Design – Master of Fine Arts (M. F. A.)
http://www.uni-weimar.de/cms/index.php?id=31&L=1

It includes Interaction Design and you can take courses of other genres like ID, Graphic Design, Fine Arts or Architecture. In Weimar/BUW you have a project based and very interdisciplinary study - old Bauhaus style.

—Germany-Berlin—
Experimental Media Design - Master Course?

Im not sure if its a standalone Master or a later upgrade course. I didnt understand that website. In general in Berlin/Udk they have a class system, like one teacher for several years. At Experimental Media Design this is Joachim Sauter of Art+Com.

—Germany-Cologne—
Audio-Visual Media, Master of Fine Arts?
http://www.khm.de/programme/index_e.htm

In Cologne/Khm they have a wide spreaded focus, but in fact this is your choice if you go to a very artistic, experimental way of interaction design. More art than design. You have to check individually for a master - write them your artistic ideas/ways.

TU delft:

i heard it has the biggest industrial design school in europe, and the level is quite good, the program is in english, you’ll need a toefl or something equivalent

I think one needs to learn/know Italian in order to get into Ivrea/Domus. It’s kinda sad because they have a very good program in Interaction Design.

Geneva University of Art and Design, Switzerland
Media Design Master programme (interaction design, information design and electronic publishing, mobile media)

I am in a dilemma and hoping to get some help here. I have graduated as an industrial designer in June 2011 and had applied to Masters in interaction design program at Ivrea (which is under Domus Academy, Milan now) and Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID) after going trough this thread. I have been accepted in both the institutes for masters course starting in January 2012 and I chose to attend the course at Domus Academy.

Now the situation is that Domus Academy has informed me after my payment of deposit that the course is postponed and will be starting in September 2012. I inquired at CIID and they are still happy to have me in their institute. Delaying almost a year for post graduation will affect my career plan but I am ready to it if Domus Academy has a marginal advantage over CIID.

So please let me have some suggestion from you regarding which of these institutes is better or are they at par to each other, so that I can take some decision.

Thanks a lot
