Oh goodness gracious. Did all of the winners of the International Bicycle Design Competition get together, have children, and put those kids in design school? Is this a joke?
We believe a bicycle as a “utility” that should enable you to reach your goals. Weather it is to get your groceries, taking your kids to the playground or simply having fun riding it.
No, you believe a bicycle concept and foam model should enable you to reach your fundraising goal. ‘Weather’ or not its realistic.
There are so many SMH things with this … thing that I think I’d time out the Forum before completing it. Thanks so much for sharing! This board topic was made for this kind of hate! mwah ha ha
As far as I can tell, they’re pretty earnest about the whole thing- but for their sake kind of hope that it’s a cynical cash grab.
Of course, with an engineering student on the team, they should have no problem developing and producing a carbon fiber frame, hubless wheels, hydraulic rim brakes, and three internal gearboxes in the time allotted. Oh, and a sidecar “with independent safety test certificate, comparable to European ‘GS’ and ‘TÜV’, to ensure it meets the highest safety standards.”:
I had the same initial reaction, ‘must be a foam-over-steel-frame’ mock-up and was just about ready to rant at kickstarter for not doing their checking. But they are actually riding it in the video. I still dont think it’ll be a great bike, but I do respect the engineering.
In the video it is always going in a straight line. It seems like the rider is having trouble keeping the bars pointed straight ahead (maybe a bad head angle?). Eeesh.
Did hit the 50k Euro goal though, so we shall see:D
B-Car is a 1100 g model dedicated do RC hobby users, it has brushless motors, can reach speed of 30 km/h on the ground and 60 km/h in flight
B-Unstoppable is a 90 g model, dedicated to Toy market, based on coreless dc motors. It can reach speed of 10-15 km/h on the ground and about 20 km/h in the air
makes me want to start a Fenderless haters thread, it’s hard to watch, I just keep waiting for his shirt to get caught in that rear tire.
Beautiful Bike and concept.
