Inspirational Design Shorts

Only two minutes long but some good advice from Jim Yurchenco
“Don’t accept done for good, and don’t accept good for excellent.”

Maybe not inspirational as some of these other videos, but I find it very cool to see someone who has become so smooth at their craft even if it something very basic. Example here is a man who hand paints motorcycle gas tanks with such precision and smoothness, although I think I see some type of edge to help as a guideline, but regardless I tend to think these types of jobs are done by machines. Practice makes near perfect.

Beautiful Result. But this is one of the most elaborate set of CNC operations I’ve seen.

Here’s a beautiful promo video of the new, and frankly gorgeous, MAN TGX D38. Great work by VAGs design team.

Really like the concept of this simple idea

Every few months, I go back and watch that Royal Enfield video. I find it very inspirational!

Did someone post this one before?

wow,it’s so good!

A wee bit new agey, but some real thought gems:

This video is amazing. 10 minutes of the design and manufacturing of a Patek Grand Complication. The attention to detail is crazy.

I love people.
This has been doing the internet rounds this morning:

and in honour of the new Star Wars teaser out today, the most 1982 thing ever:

Narrated by Carl Sagan, each of the environments depicted is based on a real place in the solar system.

Interesting to see the mix of traditional and super modern methods of production for Beretta shotguns, also helps that it is nicely shot piece of cinematography. (Maybe overly dramatic, but cool to see regardless)

I found this great website, lots of manufacturing videos.

Bumping this topic back up!

Here is a quirky one. What i love is this guy’s willingness to just make first and think later to see what happens.

Having trouble imbedding the vimeo, anyone know what I’m going wrong here?
