buying a range - soliciting advice

I was around Whirlpool when the KitchenAid range you’re referencing was designed and launched, ran into the designer for the first time in a couple of years at the IDSA International in Chicago. Like a few other people on here, I owned the Electric version of this range as well, always liked it, no real problems to speak of. The console is die-cast Al, a lot of learning from hearing about that part that I still reference around nominal wall thickness and ribs etc. (there were some issues with sink on that part at some point).
Handle is extruded AL with set screws. The knobs are die-cast with an elastomeric inset. All the touch points are pretty nice.
I think we had some convection in ours, I wasn’t baking a lot back then so I’m afraid I can’t speak as well to performance.

The Dacor looks nice, but is certainly more industrial kitchen looking.

Around 2004, we were guessing a return to White appliances (with nicely executed details and finishes) from stainless and AL, this was around the time the Morrison Rowenta stuff…still waiting…
