buying a range - soliciting advice

The bit I read about induction is that you have to re-learn how long it takes the cooktop to produce heat, and how long things might take to cook as well. Also, there is ‘approved’ cookware; you need a flat bottom pot or pan, I think no aluminum (it works only on magnetic materials), probably no non-stick.

Sounds neat but I don’t want to run a new wire to the stove area.
