Let’s be clear. It’s like 2 kicks to the crotch if I get nothing from the deal in exchange for my time/talent/treasure. Actually, that’s like 3 kicks to the crotch.
There has to be a wiifm. Every other professional organization does this through continuing education. Why would I hold IDSA to a lower standard? I suppose management experience is a tangible, but I get that from my work, I don’t need more.
