viperoshanali:
Hi everyone,
Currently am working as a visiting faculty at International School of Design, Pune until I get my work permit and visa for the Netherlands. Until then I would be dealing with variant courses for the foundation students here.
So been doing quite a lot of lectures on markers and how it could be used as a tool to ideate and not just to render. Sharing few sketches from the big library churned out in the last 2 weeks.
@Viperoshanali - Great work! Checked out your websites too, amazing stuff, best of luck in the Netherlands. Also, what kind of camera are you using?
Practicing marker work, took an example from the book ‘Design Sketching: Drawing Techniques for Product Designers’ (Or similar).

just recently finished secondary school and going to start my first year in product design very soon so quite excited. anyways, as you could see these sketches aren’t great, very sketchy looking. as an 18 year old i feel that my skill is lacking also i didn’t go to any skill based classes so my experience is considered very less although i aim to do a sketch everyday . so it would be appreciated if someone here give me some input or point me to the right direction
took me about one hour to get each done so it’s not exactly fast.
note, that in the first sketch i used a bit of marker and colour pencil for rendering. these are zebra branded markers probably not a type people here recommend for rendering but it was cheap to pick up at the stores so I brought a few. will invest in some higher quality ones as i get into university. so recommendations would be cool…

A lot of nice sketching guys.
I started with sketching watches. I hope it helps to improve my ellipses, but first need to get used to the proportions.

What’s the character for your next children’s book? We know you have more in you than another watch or soccer boot. Show us what you got!

Some sharpie doodles during a phone call today… Corvettes, must be all the Corvette talk in the trans forum:
Huge Gallery: 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Photo Gallery
I can’t wait to see it in person. The creases along the hood are extra sexy, and the interior has some cool details, like a sculpted hood over the instrument cluster, and check out the passenger climate control integrated into the vent!
For comparison, here’s a high-end current generation I spotted today.
@ yo: Love those sharpie doodles!
@ Holixx: That is a neat way to use gray markers underneath before doing any linework…
another guy to wrap up the day…
…ok…one more to officially wrap it up

Thanks, hadn’t sketched with Sharpies in awhile. I like the commitment each line has. You can’t get fussy, you just have to roll with it.
doodlin some stuff up right now
