Plastic Alternatives to Brass

Hi,

Does anyone know any plastic alternatives to brass.

I’m working on a product that has threads which interact with a nut made of brass.

I’d like to manufacture the product using a hard plastic if possible, it would need to be hard enough that the threads on the product don’t wear away, and not too hard that it damages the threads on the brass nut.

Any information would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Both have different capacity so how can we alternate each other?

Carbon- or Glass-filled nylons such as Zytel - Zytel® Nylon Resin | Nylon 6 6 | Nylon 6

Delrin is strong too, has a low friction coefficient and self-lubricity, I have seen it used in motorcycle gears.

A glass filled nylon would be perfect for your application.
