Out of those ideas my favorite is the breakfast bar lighting fixture - a nice fabbing challenge too.
It would make a nice multifunctional decorative piece as well - create a few circular holes to insert fishbowls, screw a wall planter in, add some hooks to hang shoes/coats from, a bookshelf, etc.
