We Beat The Mountain launched first designer products from r

Utrecht – On the 9th and 10th of December We Beat The Mountain launched its first designer products made from recycled materials at the Green Today event in the RAI Amsterdam. We Beat The Mountain is driven by the mission to beat the global trash mountains, by creating, producing and selling products with an edgy design, such as laptopcovers, iPadcovers and smartcovers, made out of recycled plastic and PET bottles
You clean up nine and a half liter bottles by purchasing one laptopcover and six bottles when you buy an iPadcover. Several companies, such as Ballast Nedam, Van Gansewinkel and Essent support the initiative. The products are available to you now via our newly opened webshop: http://www.webeatthemountain.com/webshop.

On each product you will receive a ‘recycling deposit’. This means that at the end of life cycle you can invest 10% of your purchase price in a new product of We Beat The Mountain. This amount is activated upon the return of the old product to the waste management company Van Gansewinkel. This is your contribution to keep materials in the recycling loop, and with this you help to beat the trash mountains worldwide.

This launch is only the first in a series to come. Together with the fast growing worldwide Facebook community, now over 27.000 fans, We Beat The Mountain has selected a range of new products. Expected products for 2011 are the Flex Workers Trolley, which contributes to the changing dynamics in corporate life. Several organizations already showed interest in purchasing this Flex Worker Trolley. Furthermore, We Beat The Mountain works together with several multinationals to create sustainable initiatives, such as “The construction site of the future” which is a cooperation with Ballast Nedam.

“The drive for starting this worldwide movement comes from my frustration that most user products are designed in an unsustainable way. After a short lifecycle they end up directly on the trash mountain” says Han Hendriks, initiator of We Beat The Mountain. “By showing the value of trash and using the mountain to develop new products, we improve the quality of life of future generations”.
Green Today was a three day event on sustainability, innovation, luxury and style. Via internationally oriented conferences, exclusive product launches, creative expositions and unique stands, Green today proved that a sustainable initiative can become an unforgettable experience.
