Coroflot - Brand related Jobs

I thought I would start a thread that links to all the latest jobs that come up on Coroflot related to branding and POP.

Here’s the latest:

Maybe since a lot of us work in this field, we can also post any information we have relating to jobs from our offices or networking opportunities. Considering the times any help might be appreciated to those in the branding fields.

I like the idea of getting a networking opportunities and social gathering thread, but lets keep the job posting to what has been posted on coroflot. I think putting them in a thread is okay, but we do not want to conflict with coroflot.com.

Thanks loafer!! I am pretty happy at the moment, but keep them coming. I think this is a great resource thread for the forum.

A question for you guys who deal with the POP segment, do you find recruiters good to work with? Have you had good or bad experiences with them?

I’ve worked with one that I think is savvy enough to not waste my time trying to place me in a spot I wouldn’t fit in with. However I get plenty-o-calls from others and more often than not, they don’t seem to really “get it”.

I find recruiters to be very hard to work with. There are a few out there like The Creative Group and Yeh IDeology are pretty decent. But what I have found is that a lot of them do not get what ID is, so when they recruit you either you get called for a CAD job or for a Graphic job. And given there are a lot of these in our field it can get annoying. I have also found that there are a lot of POP companies that want people that are good at CAD and will tell them that they are hiring for an ID position but it turns out to be a CAD Jockey job. I am not knocking POP designer. Trust me I have been there and done it and still do a bit of it now; this is just something you need to watch for as well.

ah, I’m asleep on the job today… my wife’s birthday

I know what you guys mean about recruitment agencies. I remember a while back going to see someone and because I said I use Photoshop and Illustrator a bit they tried to talk me into doing some monkey graphic production work.

You’re right, some (most) don’t get it at all.

I’ve had it the other way around too in that once I was contacted about a senior design position and they said that one thing they were looking for was someone tthat could do 3D renderings. I hadn’t really gotten into that yet and even asked “Are you sure they are okay with someone who doesn’t have the 3D stuff yet but is willing to learn?” to which the recruiter replied, “Oh, yeah I just spoke with the guy and he says as long as the talent is there, they aren’t worried about teaching the 3D stuff”. Of course I go to the interview, and within three minutes of the guy looking through my stuff he asks “Where is the 3D renderings?”. The interview was politely ended soon after and I was on my way back home.

That experience was so embarassing and I’ll be honest it kind of messed with my head - but it wasn’t long after that I determined that it would never happen again.

I love working with some recruiters. The ones I’ve used are able to get me directly to the hiring managers and I don’t have to go through the typical HR BS until an offer is actually made. Others come off as cheap car salesmen. I have used and been really happy with Mildred Lage. She had set up a series of opportunities for me and all the positions were as she described. They were design positions and not CAD jockey type stuff.

I always keep about 12 recruiters on hand in case of emergency. But I actually only deal with 2-3 of them.

Boosted, think you’d be willing to share some of those recruiters? I’m looking to make a move out of where I am now and could definitely use some assistance.

Here’s a few that I’ve worked with in the past. I haven’t used them in awhile so I don’t know what they’re up to now though. My favorite to work with is Mildred Lage.
