Modo and Makerbot Replication 2 Demonstration

Hi group -

Wanted to send out a reminder early this time. I hope that many of you can make it out on Wednesday October 10th at 7PM to the School of Visual Arts on West 16th St. Login to Meetup | Meetup

Erik Guzman and Arthur Young-Spivey will be showing off their work with Modo 601 from Luxology. Modo is a very powerful tool for creating photo-realistic renderings and animations, but that’s only the beginning, there are some great tools for creating complex geometry in Modo, geometry that can then be exported to SolidWorks.

We’ll get to take a look at the new MakerBot Replicator 2 Desktop 3D Printer. I can guarantee we are the first SolidWorks User Group to see this product, which is featured on the latest issue of Wired.

Also Matt Rhor, a mechanical designer at MakerBot, will be using the Replicator 2 models to show off some SolidWorks part modeling techniques. As always we’ll be providing food & drinks and some swag from our sponsors.

Best,
