Job Function: Research, concept development, 3D modeling and visualization.

Zodiac Aerospace’s Product Innovation team is looking for independent minded designers skilled in translating brand definitions into unique, high value user experiences and with an understanding of manufacturing processes. The selected candidates will join Zodiac’s Product Innovation team to carry out and support design and engineering efforts in our Premium Seating division. The chosen candidate will generate compelling concepts from well defined research, articulate those concepts internally and to clients, define the products through sketching and CAD and then follow the concepts through engineering and production.

Zodiac has been a leader in the design and manufacturing of aerospace components for over a hundred years. The Product Innovation group is responsible for the development of future aircraft cabin and seating design solutions both for unique, airline led programs and also to create the next generation of off-the-shelf products. Zodiac’s products appear in nearly all types of aircraft; from business jets to the very largest commercial aircraft.

Job Requirements

Specific Skills

Degree in Industrial Design or similar
1-5 years of relevant professional industrial design experience
Understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes including composites, injection molding, metal machining, sheet metal, thermoforming and rapid prototyping
Strong, demonstrable sketching ability essential
Ability to create quick models and prototypes
Proven 2D and 3D CAD ability, AutoCAD and CATIA preferred
Experience with visualization software, Bunkspeed preferred
Ability to generate presentation visuals from sketch work and CAD data
Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite software packages
