The biker build off shows were a great example of talented (and un trained) people that know not only their market but have the ability to make their creations work. The bikes shown were using some innovative materials, coatings, forms and technologies all in sync with the market. Each builder (note they never say “designer” but fabricator) has a style, that has a following but even radicly different styles have great cross over. If you look at the custom chopper market, then look at the custom sport bike market the two are not that far apart, inovation, fabrication, in touch with their markets. The best comes when your in touch with your market, not standing in the ivory tower of design.
